Tuam Celtic A.F.C. is an Irish association football club based in Tuam, County Galway. Their senior men's currently competes in the Galway & District League. The club also operates a ladies team a number of schoolboy teams.
The demise of Tuam Town F.C. in 1973, led a group of players who played at the old racecourse in Parkmore, to convene a meeting with the idea of forming a new club.
A meeting was held in Tuam C.B.S (now St. Patrick's College) on Monday 18 February 1974 to found a new club. Initially a fee of 25 pence was set for membership cards to be sold to players and supporters. Registered players had to pay £1 with a fee of 10 pence per week.
During a meeting held on 1 October 1975, it was proposed that a board of trustees would be formed and each would invest £1000 over two years in the Tuam Celtic Development Fund. Grounds were eventually purchased at Cloonthue Road, Tuam which is now the club's permanent home.
In 1996, the club added floodlights and built dressing rooms at Cloonthue. The grounds, training pitches and facilities are wholly owned by the club, a testament to many years of voluntary fund raising by club members. [1]
In 2010 Tuam Celtic seniors won the Jack Lillis Cup with a 3 - 1 win over OLBC. The following season Tuam Celtic finished second in Division 2 league and gained promotion to Division One.
In 2013 Tuam Celtic were promoted to the Premier League of the Galway & District League for the first time since 1991 after a hugely successful season where they finished 2nd in Division one. Celtic were just pipped to top spot on the final day of the season by St Pats.

The CSL was active between 1981 and 2000. In 2013 discussions were held about relaunching the league.

F.C. Carlow was an Irish association football club based in County Carlow. Between 2009 and 2011 the club played in the A Championship. They also fielded teams in the League of Ireland U20/U19 Division. They were the first and to date so far, the only association football club from County Carlow to play in a senior national level league. During this time, the club also competed in the FAI Cup, the League of Ireland Cup and the Leinster Senior Cup.
The Connacht Senior League Challenge Cup was an association football cup competition featuring teams from the Connacht Senior League. It was the senior league cup competition of the Connacht Senior League between 1981 and 2000. It was later remained the Connacht Senior League Premiership Cup and in its final season was known as the Connacht Senior League Millennium Cup. The inaugural winners were Mervue United who also went on to become the competition's most successful club, winning the cup six times in total.
Galway United Football Club is an Irish association football club based in Galway. They play in the League of Ireland First Division. They were founded as Galway Rovers F.C. during the 1930s. They made their League of Ireland debut in 1977–78 and changed their name to Galway United in 1981–82. After suffering financial difficulties, the club dropped out of the League of Ireland after the 2011 season but in 2014 Galway United returned initially playing as Galway F.C. for a season.
The 2015–16 Women's National League was the fifth season of the Women's National League. Two new clubs joined the league before the start of the season, restoring the number of teams in the league to eight. Kilkenny United were formed as expansion team while Raheny United's senior women's team merged with Shelbourne Ladies. This effectively saw Shelbourne Ladies takeover Raheny United's place in the WNL. The season also saw the introduction of the WNL Shield. Wexford Youths and Shelbourne Ladies finished the season as the league's two strongest teams. In the league itself, the two teams finished level on points before Wexford Youths retained the title after a play-off. Wexford Youths also completed a treble, having already won both the FAI Women's Cup and WNL Shield. Shelbourne Ladies were also runners up in the WNL Shield before going onto win the WNL Cup. Before the season was finished Castlebar Celtic withdrew because they were unable to field a team.
