Irish mythology is the body of myths indigenous to the island of Ireland. It was originally passed down orally in the prehistoric era. In the early medieval era, some myths were transcribed by Christian monks, who heavily altered and Christianised the myths. Irish mythology is the best-preserved branch of Celtic mythology.
In Celtic cultures, a bard is an oral repository and professional story teller, verse-maker, music composer, oral historian and genealogist, employed by a patron to commemorate one or more of the patron's ancestors and to praise the patron's own activities.
The road crew are the support personnel who travel with an artist or band on tour, usually in sleeper buses, and handle every part of the concert productions except actually performing the music with the musicians. De Dannan is an Irish folk music group. It was formed in 1975 by Frankie Gavin (fiddle), Alec Finn, Johnny "Ringo" McDonagh (bodhrán) and Charlie Piggott (banjo) as a result of sessions in Hughes's Pub in Spiddal, County Galway, Ireland, with Dolores Keane (vocals) subsequently being invited to join the band. The fiddler Mickey Finn (1951–1987) is also acknowledged to have been a founder member.
Cruachan are an Irish folk metal band from Dublin that have been active since the 1990s. They are recognised as one of the founders of folk metal, and have been acclaimed as having "gone the greatest lengths of anyone in their attempts to expand" the genre. With a specific focus on Celtic music and the use of Celtic mythology in their lyrics, Cruachan's style of folk metal is called Celtic metal.
Massacration is a fictional American heavy metal band created by Brazilian humorists and musicians Bruno Sutter, Fausto Fanti, Marco Antônio Alves, Adriano Silva and Felipe Torres, all of them part of the comedy troupe Hermes & Renato. Heavily influenced by the similar semi-fictional metal act Spinal Tap and self-styled as "a banda da galera", Massacration is a light-hearted parody of heavy metal subculture and "metalhead/headbanger" stereotypes, lampooning the music and aesthetics of such famous metal bands as Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Manowar, Sepultura, Angra, among others. The band's music features humorous lyrics written in a combination of intentionally broken English and Portuguese, sung in an exaggerated falsetto by Sutter.
Andre Coelho Matos was a Brazilian singer and musician. He was involved in the heavy metal bands Viper, Angra, Shaman and Symfonia. Since 2006, Matos had been dedicating his time to his solo career. In 2012, he was ranked No. 77 at the list of 100 Greatest Voices of Brazilian Music by Rolling Stone Brasil.
Quarteto 1111 was a Portuguese progressive rock and psychedelic rock band founded in Estoril in 1967. Originally it was formed by Miguel Artur da Silveira (drums), José Cid, António Moniz Pereira (guitar) and Jorge Moniz Pereira (bass). Later members included Tozé Brito, Mike Sergeant and Mário Rui Terra. It was one of the most influential rock bands in the country.
Almah is a Brazilian heavy metal band. Initially established in 2006 as a side project of former Angra singer Edu Falaschi, the band has released five albums and has turned from a solo-project into a band with regular activities. Almah plays internationally since 2008 and was featured in festivals such as Rock in Rio (2013) and ProgPower USA (2015), among others.
Cabine C was a short-lived Brazilian post-punk band from São Paulo. With their sonority inspired by acts such as Siouxsie and the Banshees, the Cure, Cocteau Twins and Talking Heads, and vocalist Ciro Pessoa's lyrics influenced by Romantic and Symbolist poets such as Edgar Allan Poe, Charles Baudelaire and Arthur Rimbaud, and by playwright Antonin Artaud, they are considered to be one of the first and most famous Brazilian gothic rock bands, as well as forerunners of the cold wave movement in Brazil.
Tierramystica is a Brazilian folk metal band from Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, founded in 2008. The band is noted for blending heavy/power metal with elements of andean music. As an opening act, they have performed with names such as Angra, Sepultura, Symphony X, Epica, Paul Di'Anno and Scorpions.
Mercenárias, sometimes erroneously referred to as As Mercenárias, are a Brazilian all-female rock band formed in São Paulo in 1982, by bassist Sandra Coutinho, vocalist Rosália Munhoz and guitarist Ana Machado. With lyrics that heavily criticized Brazilian government and society, their sonority was constantly compared to Siouxsie and the Banshees, Joy Division, Sex Pistols and above all The Slits.
Smack was a Brazilian post-punk band from São Paulo, formed in 1983 and characterized by its raw and experimental instrumentation heavily influenced by Gang of Four, Talking Heads, Os Mutantes and The Jam, among others.
Project46 is a heavy metal band from São Paulo, Brazil. Since forming in 2008 by guitarists and childhood friends Jean Patton and Vinicius Castellari, the quintet has released one EP and three full-length albums, and have played several large rock and metal festivals in and around Brazil and South America. Known for their politically and socially controversial lyrics, Project46's popularity outside of Brazil has been steadily growing. The band debuted on American satellite radio in 2015 by José Manguin of Sirius XM Radio's Liquid Metal, who played "Caos Renomeado" from their 2014 album Que Seja Feita a Nossa Vontade.

Luciana de Andrade is a Brazilian singer, songwriter and actress. In 2002 she won the talent show Popstars and joined the Brazilian girl group Rouge, recording two of the four studio albums, Rouge (2002) and C'est La Vie (2003). With over 6 million records sold, the Rouge are the best-selling Brazilian female group of all time. In 2004 she left the band citing exhaustion and creative differences, but rejoined when they reunited for a fifth studio album, Les 5inq (2019) and concert tour: 15 Anos Tour (2018).
Lúdica Música! is a music group from Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais state, in Brazil. It was formed in 1991 and specialises in MPB. Members of the band are Rosana Britto and Isabella Ladeira, who were founder members, and Gutti Mendes, who joined them in 2003. The group performs many of their own songs, as well as covers of Brazilian and international music, including songs by the Beatles. They have performed more than 3,000 concerts in Brazil and Europe. In recent years they have spent several periods in the Portuguese town of Maia, under a project called "Maia embraces Minas Gerais", in which they both give concerts and provide training courses in Brazilian music for young people.
Metal Folclore: The ZoeiraNever Ends... is the debut album by Detonator e as Musas do Metal, a parodic heavy metal project idealized by Brazilian singer Bruno Sutter under his persona of "Detonator", which he originally conceived for his previous band Massacration. Self-released on July 19, 2014, it is fully sung in Portuguese, unlike Sutter's previous outputs with Massacration, and is also his first concept album/rock opera. Its insert comes with a sticker album and accompanying stickers.
Vera Cruz is the third solo album by Brazilian heavy metal singer Edu Falaschi, the first with all-new material, released initially on May 12, 2021, in Japan via MS Metal Records, digitally to the rest of the world on May 18, 2021. The album was then released physically, first in Brazil on May 31, 2021, and then to the rest of the world on June 15, 2021.
