Tulum Airport is a train station located next to the Tulum International Airport.
Andrés Manuel López Obrador announced the Tren Maya project in his 2018 presidential campaign. On 13 August 2018, he announced the complete outline. The new Tren Maya put Tulum Airport station on the route connecting Cancún Airport railway station and Escárcega station, Campeche. [3]
The Tren Maya is a 1,554 km-long (966 mi) intercity railway in Mexico that traverses the Yucatán Peninsula. Construction began in June 2020 and the Campeche–Cancún section began operation on December 15, 2023, with the rest of the line to open later. The railway begins in Cancún International Airport and travels southwest towards Palenque, Chiapas, via two routes that encircle the peninsula.
Tulum International Airport – officially the Felipe Carrillo Puerto International Airport – is an international airport situated approximately 20 kilometres (12 mi) southwest of Tulum, Quintana Roo, Mexico. It serves both domestic and international air traffic for Tulum, functioning as a secondary gateway for tourists visiting the Mexican Caribbean, the Riviera Maya, and the Yucatán Peninsula. It also supports various executive and general aviation activities. The primary airport in the region is Cancún International Airport, situated approximately 125 kilometres (78 mi) north of Tulum.

The station was built on the territory of a former airport. It is the southern terminus of the Tren Maya.
