Tulum is a future train station near Tulum, Quintana Roo, on the Tren Maya system.

Tren Maya

Andrés Manuel López Obrador announced the Tren Maya project in his 2018 presidential campaign. The system's Tulum station was placed on the eastern route connecting Cancún International Airport and Escárcega, Campeche. [3]

This station will be the first of two Tren Maya stations in the Tulum Municipality, along with a station at the Tulum International Airport 27 km (17 mi) southwest of the urban area of Tulum. [4]

The Tren Maya is a 1,554 km-long (966 mi) intercity railway in Mexico that traverses the Yucatán Peninsula. Construction began in June 2020 and the Campeche–Cancún section began operation on December 15, 2023, with the rest of the line to open later. Cancún Airport is a train station located across Federal Highway 180 from Cancún International Airport. It is the most important station on the entire Tren Maya network, served by trains to all other stations.

Chetumal Airport is a future train station near Chetumal, Quintana Roo. The station connects with the Chetumal International Airport.

Playa del Carmen is a railway station in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo. The station allows transport and tourism to Playa del Carmen with other parts of the Yucatán Peninsula. On 29 February 2024, the station was officially opened. However, the line it is on did not enter service until two weeks later, so the first passengers to the station arrived on 15 March 2024.
