The series was originally launched in single-panel cartoons originally published in the pages of magazine O Cruzeiro that through their popularity eventually earning his own comic book in 1960 then called only "Pererê", one of the first children's comic books series in Brazil. The comics tagged generation among many Brazilians, but were eventually canceled in 1964, only returning to be published in 1975 by Abril with the current title "Turma do Pererê" which was canceled the following year and shall have only republications in subsequent years, until 1980 when he dedicated to the comics of the Menino Maluquinho.
Monica and Friends: Bonds is a 2019 Brazilian family adventure film produced by Estúdios Mauricio de Sousa, directed by Daniel Rezende, with screenplay written by Thiago Dottori, and starring Giulia Benite, Kevin Vechiatto, Laura Rauseo and Gabriel Moreira. The film was based on the eponymous graphic novel by Vitor and Lu Cafaggi and the series of homonymous comic books created by Mauricio de Sousa. The movie was first released in US during the Hollywood Brazilian Film Festival, on 16 November 2019.

Ely Barbosa was a Brazilian comics artist. He started working with comics in the early 1970s with his studio, which produced the Os Trapalhões comic book for Bloch publishing house. In 1976, he released his own characters: Turma da Fofura and Turma do Cacá, initially in children's books, but which, with their success, quickly gained comics, first by the publisher RGE and later by the editora Abril. In the 1980s, new characters emerged, such as Amendoins, Gordo and Patrícia, all with their own comic books, which were published until 1992. Barbosa also produced animations and TV commercials, plays and children's television series with his characters, such as Tutti-Frutti and Boa Noite, Amiguinhos in the 1980s and Fofura na TV, in the 1990s. In 1994, he was awarded with the Prêmio Angelo Agostini for Master of National Comics, an award that aims to honor artists who have dedicated themselves to Brazilian comics for at least 25 years.
Pelezinho is a Brazilian comic book series created by Mauricio de Sousa based on soccer star Pelé in his childhood. The character was created in 1976 from conversations between Mauricio and Pelé to create a character to better promote the player who at the time had just become a phenomenon for the Brazil national team. The characters were suggested by Pelé himself, based on childhood memories.
The New Adventures of Monica and Friends is a 1986 Brazilian animated compilation film directed by Mauricio de Sousa. It is the third film based on the Turma da Mônica comic book series, of which Mauricio is the creator. Like his first film, The Adventures of Monica and Friends, it is divided into stories, as Mauricio wanted these to be shown later on television. It was released for the first time on September 20, 1986. The film was successful in theaters and received a positive reception from the public. It was later shown at the Gramado and Brasilia Film Festivals and re-released on VHS.
CNT Curitiba is a Brazilian television station based in Curitiba, capital of the state of Paraná. It operates on channel 6 and is both an owned-and-operated station and the generator of Central Nacional de Televisão. It shares the leadership of the network with CNT Rio de Janeiro and CNT Tropical. The channel was opened in 1960 as TV Paraná on the initiative of journalists Assis Chateaubriand, owner of the media conglomerate Diários Associados, from which the station had support, and Adherbal Stresser. Sold to the Martinez family, it led a small state network in the 1980s that later had national coverage, Rede OM. It changed its identification to CNT in 1993.
