Turning Point (1991 TV series)

Turning Point was a weekly science magazine programme that aired on DD National in 1991. The show won several awards. [1] [2]

The script and direction was by Neelabh Kaul and Indraneel Kaul. It was co-produced by Doordarshan and Vyeth Television. [3] The presenter was Girish Karnad, with special appearances by Yash Pal. [4] Actor Naseeruddin Shah, classical dancer Mallika Sarabhai, and director Mahesh Bhatt along with Kabir Bedi also hosted some episodes. [5]

Pran Kishore Kaul is a Kashmiri stage personality. In addition to acting, he has directed and written screenplays. He was bestowed from the Sahitya Akademi Award for his novel Sheen Tu Watu Pod. He was one of the founders of the Miltsar Kashmir Music & Dance Group, a group that travels widely with the goal of supporting Kashmiri and Indian arts.

Turning Point is a professional wrestling Impact Plus event, produced by American professional wrestling promotion Impact Wrestling. The event was created in 2004 and was originally held annually in December, until the 2008 event where TNA changed its scheduled date to November. The 2004 event was the second TNA PPV to be produced annually. Since its inception, the event has been held exclusively in an indoor arena in Orlando, Florida, with all events taking place in the Impact Zone until 2019. Each event features talent from TNA competing in various professional wrestling match types. Since the inaugural event, eight championship matches have taken place in the main event.

Idiot is a 1992 Hindi drama film based on Fyodor Dostoevsky's 1869 novel, The Idiot. It was directed by Mani Kaul and starred Shah Rukh Khan and Ayub Khan-Din. The film debuted at the New York Film Festival in October 1992. In this version of the tale, placed in contemporary Mumbai, Prince Miskin (Khan-Din) is a man whose epilepsy is mistaken for idiocy.

Neelamani Devi is an Indian craftswoman and master potter from Manipur. Her creations have been the theme of two documentary films; Mittee aur Manab by renowned filmmaker, Mani Kaul, and Nilamani: The Master Potter of Manipur, by Aribam Syam Sharma. The TV Series, Mahabharata also featured her works on one of the episodes. The Government of India awarded her the fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri, in 2007, for her contributions to the art of pottery making.

Ghutan is an Indian television series broadcast first on Doordarshan in 1997, and on Star Plus as Manzil in 1998.
