The inaugural U. S. Open Cycling Championships is a road bicycle racing event that was held April 7, 2007 and ran from Williamsburg to Richmond, Virginia. The race was broadcast nationally in the United States on NBC Sports from 2:30 to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
The U.S. Open, developed in partnership with USA Cycling and sanctioned by the UCI with the men's event part of the 2006–07 UCI America Tour. The U.S. Cycling Open featured both men's and women's professional fields. According to published reports, [1] the event attempts to showcase the historic attractions of Virginia just weeks before the 400th Anniversary of America's first permanent English settlement in Jamestown, Virginia.

The name Strade Bianche stems from the historic white gravel roads in the Crete Senesi, which are a defining feature of the race. Beginning in 2012, the men's Gila has been added to the UCI America Tour as a UCI classification 2.2 stage race, which permits UCI ProTeams to enter if they so choose; beginning in 2015, the women's Gila has also been added to the women's UCI international tour as a UCI classification 2.2 stage race.

The 2013 USA Pro Cycling Challenge is the third edition of the USA Pro Cycling Challenge stage race. Once again, the race was included on the UCI America Tour, with a UCI classification of 2.HC. As such, the race was only open to teams on the UCI Pro Tour, UCI Professional Continental and UCI Continental circuits. The race took place between August 19–25, 2013 as a seven-day, seven-stage race, traversing the state of Colorado. The 2013 USA Pro Cycling Challenge was one of six UCI-ranked stage races in the United States in 2013, and one of two that attracted multiple UCI ProTeams to compete.
The men's individual time trial was one of 18 cycling events of the 2016 Summer Olympics. The event started and finished on 10 August at Pontal, a small peninsula and beach area in the Recreio dos Bandeirantes neighborhood, located in the West Zone of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The race start and finish were part of the Barra venues cluster and one of seven temporary venues of the 2016 Summer Olympics.
