ICOR (ex Rubicon group) is a Lithuanian group of more than 100 companies with 6,800 employees. The companies of the corporate group operate in more than 10 countries. Products and services of the companies are supplied to a market of over 60 countries.
Chairman of the Board of ICOR is Andrius Janukonis, Board Members are Gintautas Jaugielavičius and Linas Samuolis, CEO is Artūras Gudelis. [1] Shareholders of the group are A. Janukonis, G. Jaugielavičius and L. Samuolis.
The Rubicon group formed in 1990 as the freight forwarding consulting company Rubicon. The founders were former students of Vilnius University and the current Board members. They later became board members of the Rubicon Group of companies. Metal trading activities were expanded in Lithuania and then in Russia. In 2011, the group posted sales of 905 million litas (€262.1 million). [2] In 2005 the company had a turnover of 311 million litas (approx. €90 million) and a profit of 24 million litas (€7 million).
In 2010, three group co-founders, shareholders, and board members (Rimantas Bukauskas, Arūnas Mačiuitis and Remigijus Lapinskas) sold their shares to the remaining four shareholders (Andrius Janukonis, Linas Samuolis, Gintautas Jaugielavičius, Darius Leščinskas) and bought 100% shares of Siemens Arena, the ticketing and ticket sales company Tiketa and the Panevėžio Arena, which managed the Cido Arena. Rubicon group became ICOR and then managed City Service, Ecoservice, Bionovus, the Realco group of companies and the Vichy Water Park. [3] At the end of 2016, there were 6,999 employees. In 2017, a profit of 20.885 million euros was achieved.
Today the company successfully works in the public utilities, industry and energy, trade in petroleum products and real estate development fields. The turnover of the ICOR group in 2018 was €558 million. They also belonged to the largest basketball and concert venue in Vilnius Siemens Arena, Panevėžio Arena in Panavezhis and other objects. [4]
ICOR owns Axis Technologies (biofuel energy solutions); Veikmės statyba (construction); Realco (real estate projects); Oilead (international trade in petroleum products); Natural Fiber (factories for the processing of hemp stalks); Agrosfera (house of grain). [5] ICOR owns the AXIOMA group of companies: Axioma Servisas (maintenance of equipment for industrial enterprises), Axioma Metering (production of ultrasonic heat and water meters) and Remeksi Keskus (services for the production of metal structures). Rytas Vilnius is a Lithuanian professional basketball club based in Vilnius, Lithuania. The club was founded in 1997 from another club, Statyba. Rytas have won two EuroCup titles, six Lithuanian League titles, three Lithuanian Cups and three Baltic Championships. The team plays their home games at the 2,741-seat Jeep Arena.
Panevėžys is the fifth largest city in Lithuania. As of 2011, it occupied 52 square kilometres (20 sq mi) with 113,653 inhabitants. As defined by Eurostat, the population of Panevėžys functional urban area, that stretches beyond the city limits, is estimated at 127,471
Lithuania has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 23 times since its debut in 1994, where Ovidijus Vyšniauskas finished last, receiving "nul points". Lithuania withdrew from the contest, not returning until 1999. LT United's sixth place in 2006 with the song "We Are the Winners" is Lithuania's best result in the contest. The country reached the top ten for a second time in 2016, when Donny Montell finished ninth with "I've Been Waiting for This Night", and for the third time in 2021, finishing eighth with The Roop and "Discoteque".
Avia Solutions Group Arena, located in southern part of Verkiai elderate of Vilnius, is the second largest arena in Lithuania. It generally hosts basketball games as well as concerts. The arena opened on 30 October 2004.
EuroBasket 2011 was the 37th men's European Basketball Championship, held by FIBA Europe. The competition was hosted by Lithuania. This was the second time EuroBasket had been held in Lithuania, the country having also hosted the 1939 championship. FIBA Europe asserted that Lithuania managed to organize the best European championship in its history. The top two teams are guaranteed spots at the 2012 Summer Olympics.
Vilniaus prekyba is the largest Lithuanian group of private companies operating since 1992, with 44,000 employees in six countries.
LEO LT AB or Lithuanian Electricity Organization was a national energy holding company in Lithuania. The company owned shares of Lithuania's three major electric power production and distribution companies. It was established in early 2008 to raise funds for the construction of the planned Visaginas Nuclear Power Plant after close down of Ignalina Plant, and Lithuania–Sweden and Lithuania–Poland power connections. The decision to liquidate the company, mired in controversies and attacked by critics, was reached by the shareholder of LEO LT on 4 September 2009.
The economy of Lithuania is the largest economy among the three Baltic states. Lithuania is a member of the European Union and belongs to the group of very high human development countries and is a member of the WTO and OECD.
Žalgirio Arena is a multi-purpose indoor arena in the New Town of Kaunas, Lithuania. The arena is located on an island of the Nemunas River and is the largest indoor arena in the Baltics. The arena's maximum possible seating capacity for basketball games is 15,415, and 20,000 spectators for concerts. The Žalgiris Arena replaced the Kaunas Sports Hall as a major venue in the city.
Gediminas Ziemelis is the richest Lithuanian businessman, entrepreneur and business consultant, selected twice among the top 40 most talented young industry leaders by Aviation Week & Space Technology. He is currently the Chairman of the Board at Avia Solutions Group and former Chairman of the Board at Vertas Management AB.
City ServiceSE is the main subsidiary company of the Lithuanian group UAB ICOR. The company is active in the Baltic States, Poland, Spain and Russia, having approximately 4,800 employees (2019). Since 2007, City Service SE is listed at NASDAQ OMX Vilnius. In 2011, the company achieved a turnover of 157 million EUR.
Andrius Janukonis is Lithuanian business jurist and entrepreneur. He is Chairman of the Board of UAB ICOR and Supervisory Board Chairman of AB City Service.
Pieno žvaigždės is one of the biggest dairy products companies group in Lithuania, uniting Mažeikiai dairy, Kaunas dairy, Pasvalys creamery and company "Panevėžio pienas". The current company's market value is about 70 million EUR.
Vichy Vandens Parkas is a Polynesian-themed water park located in the Ozas retail and entertainment district in Vilnius, Lithuania. The park opened 31 May 2007, and can accept 1.5 thousand visitors at one time. The park was developed by the Rubicon Group at a cost of 72 million litas. When Vichy opened, it was the most modern water park in the Baltic region. The park's theme was developed by the Spanish company Amusement Logic S.L. in consultation with the Polynesian Cultural Center in Hawaiʻi. When it first opened, a visitor study found that 52 percent of park attendees came from Vilinus.
Edita Mildažytė is a Lithuanian journalist, documentarian and social activist, widely known as the host of the longest running talk show in Lithuanian TV history, “Bėdų turgus”, on air since 2001.
The Lithuanian order of precedence is a nominal and symbolic hierarchy of important positions within the Government of Lithuania. Administered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the hierarchy does not determine the order of succession for the office of President of the Republic of Lithuania, which is instead specified by the Constitution of Lithuania.
