UAE International Award for Poets of Peace

The UAE International Award for Poets of Peace was launched on 1 May 2014 for poets [1] at the International Humanitarian City (IHC) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. [2] [3] It is claimed to be the first award of its kind, bridging a multitude of nationalities and languages in which poets will present their sonnets, spreading a message of peace around the world. [4] [5]

Contents

The global award plan at using poetry to disseminate consciousness amongst people about the importance of peace and raises further awareness for humanitarian work around the world. [6] [7]

The award is launched in collaboration with the United Nations World Food Programme. [8] [9]

Objectives

The Award has the following objectives:[ citation needed ]

  1. Promote the peace message to the world
  2. Spread the culture of peace across the world
  3. Raise awareness for humanitarian work around the world
  4. Support world relief programs. [10]

Vision

The Award has the following vision:[ citation needed ]

  1. Sending a message to the world about the need to stop war and combat hunger
  2. Unifying world peace in one entity bound by peace, without discrimination on race or religion, & spreading the message of love, unity and peace.

UAE Second Division League is the third tier of football league competition in the United Arab Emirates, the league is organised by UAE Football Association for private funded clubs and universities with amateur teams. The league was established in 2019. The league featured 10 teams who played each other twice in its first season however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the United Arab Emirates, the UAE footballing season was cancelled and declared a void and all results were null. The UAE FA set a strategy to support featuring more privately owned clubs and football academies in the UAE Football Pyramid. Ahead of the 2022–23 season, the UAE FA confirmed that the format of league will remain as 12 teams, with the introduction of the UAE Third Division League with a promotion-relegation system.

He worked as a secondary school teacher, then as an assistant teacher at the UAE University. He has many poetry collections and literary works. He was distinguished for his research on pre-Islamic and pre-Islamic Arabic poetry.
