WWE did not exist at that time, and although they did not create their own women's championship until 1984 with The Fabulous Moolah as the first WWF Women's Champion, they claim 1956 for the championship's establishment and do not recognize any title changes from when Moolah became champion in 1956 until she lost it in 1984. The final champion was Layla.

WWE Day 1 was a professional wrestling premium live event produced by WWE held for wrestlers of the promotion's Raw and SmackDown brand divisions that took place on January 1, 2022 at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia and aired on pay-per-view (PPV) worldwide and was available to stream through Peacock in the United States and the WWE Network internationally. It was the company's first PPV event to actually take place on New Year's Day. The event's title alludes to its New Year's scheduling and was WWE's first PPV to have the New Year's theme since 2007's New Year's Revolution. Its scheduling also caused the cancelation of the TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs event, usually held in late December.
