The Lone Star Conference (LSC) is a college athletic conference affiliated with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division II level. Member institutions are located in the South Central states, with schools in Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico, with two members in the Pacific Northwest states of Oregon and Washington competing as affiliates for football only.

Patriot Field is a baseball field located in Dallas, Texas, United States, and was home to the Dallas Baptist Patriots baseball team from 1983 to 2012. The venue was finished in the summer of 1983 and has had many improvements done through the years since its inception. The field has also made a cameo appearance in Chuck Norris' The President's Man, a made-for-TV movie, for CBS in 2001. The Texas Longhorns baseball team, featured in the film, used it as their fictitious "home field."
Armstrong Field was a baseball park located in Dallas, Texas, on the campus of Southern Methodist University located where Westcott Field now stands. It first hosted SMU football from 1915 through 1925. It was the home of the SMU baseball team (1919–1980) for many years though at least the final four seasons were played off campus. The Mustangs, Southwest Conference participants, were a team of futility during their time at Armstrong Field, scarcely in competition to win the conference. Armstrong Field did have the advantage of being located next to an outdoor school swimming pool. Legend has it that collegians would sit in the two rows at the top of the stands to see the women at the pool instead of watching the ballgame. Some were hit with foul balls due to their concentration on the women at the pool. The pool helped augment attendance by 40%. Armstrong Field was closed after the 1976 season, but before the last game the players stole home plate and concealed it in the storage area of Ownby Stadium. The plate was signed by the players and ended up in the SMU sports information division. The final four years (1977–1980) of SMU Mustangs baseball were played at Reverchon Park before the baseball program was phased out.
Riverside Park was a baseball park located in Dallas, Texas, and was the home to many Negro league baseball teams that existed in Dallas over the course of segregated baseball as well as the Dallas Black Giants of the Texas Colored League and, later on, the Texas-Oklahoma-Louisiana League. The park was just a few blocks away from Burnett Field, and left and center fields, on the bank of the Trinity River, were in play. The park was also used by the Texas League Dallas Steers for one game the day after a fire destroyed Gardner Park on July 19, 1924.
Gaston Park was a baseball park located in Dallas, Texas. Named for landowner William H. Gaston, the ballpark existed within the State Fair grounds in the vicinity of Texas and Pacific rail tracks as well as the Music Hall at Fair Park in Dallas. The field was also used for the Red River Rivalry in 1912 and 1914. Oklahoma beat Texas 21–6 in 1912 while the Longhorns beat the Sooners 32–7 in 1914. The A&M College of Texas, as it was then known, beat Baylor University there on Thanksgiving Day 1912 by score of 53–0.

The Center for BrainHealth, part of The University of Texas at Dallas' school of Behavioral and Brain Sciences, is a research institute focused exclusively on brain health that combines brain research with clinical interventions. Founded by Dr. Sandra Bond Chapman in 1999, the Center for BrainHealth houses 125 researchers, postdoctoral research fellows, doctoral students, master's students, and research clinicians who work on 60 privately and federally funded research projects. The Center provides academic training and houses specialists in, among many others, Alzheimer's disease, traumatic brain injury (TBI), healthy brain aging, multiple sclerosis, autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), stroke, and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). To help raise awareness of and funding for research underway at the Center for BrainHealth, a number of proponent groups have formed. These include the Think Ahead Group (TAG) of young professionals and Friends of BrainHealth.
The UT Dallas Comets are the athletic teams that represent the University of Texas at Dallas, located in the Dallas suburb of Richardson, Texas, in NCAA Division III intercollegiate sports. On July 20, 2023, the university announced it would move to NCAA Division II and join the Lone Star Conference.
Whispering Hills is a neighborhood consisting of 615 homes within the Lake Highlands neighborhood of Dallas, Texas adjacent to the suburbs of Richardson and Garland.
