The UT New Music Ensemble is a contemporary chamber music group based at the University of Texas at Austin Butler School of Music (College of Fine Arts). The group has been led by Professor Dan Welcher since 1979.
Featuring solo, chamber and large ensemble works by living composers and those of the recent past, UTNME presents six full-length concerts annually of new chamber music composed primarily within the past 20 years. This group consists of a sixteen-member core ensemble made up of student instrumentalists and singers at the Butler School of Music.
Since the inception of the Visiting Composers Series in 1995, the ensemble has featured works of four to six world-class guest composers every year; recent guest composers have included Samuel Adler, Claude Baker, William Bolcom, Susan Botti, Evan Chambers, John Corigliano, Michael Daugherty, David Del Tredici, John Harbison, Stephen Hartke, Jennifer Higdon, Lee Hyla, Lowell Liebermann, David Maslanka, James MacMillan, Thea Musgrave, Robert Paterson, Shulamit Ran, Christopher Theofanidis, Augusta Read Thomas, Barton McLean, Priscilla McLean, Michael Torke, Joan Tower and Chen Yi. In addition, works by faculty composers Donald Grantham, Kevin Puts (former faculty member), Russell Pinkston, Yevgeniy Sharlat and Dan Welcher are performed regularly as well as music composed by local Austin and Texas composers.

John Paul Corigliano is an American composer of classical music. His scores, now numbering over one hundred, have won him the Pulitzer Prize, five Grammy Awards, Grawemeyer Award for Music Composition, and an Oscar. He is a distinguished professor of music at Lehman College and the Graduate Center of the City University of New York and on the composition faculty at the Juilliard School.

Michael Kevin Daugherty is an American composer, pianist, and teacher. He is influenced by popular culture, Romanticism, and Postmodernism. Daugherty's notable works include his Superman comic book-inspired Metropolis Symphony for Orchestra (1988–93), Dead Elvis for Solo Bassoon and Chamber Ensemble (1993), Jackie O (1997), Niagara Falls for Symphonic Band (1997), UFO for Solo Percussion and Orchestra (1999) and for Symphonic Band (2000), Bells for Stokowski from Philadelphia Stories for Orchestra (2001) and for Symphonic Band (2002), Fire and Blood for Solo Violin and Orchestra (2003) inspired by Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo, Time Machine for Three Conductors and Orchestra (2003), Ghost Ranch for Orchestra (2005), Deus ex Machina for Piano and Orchestra (2007), Labyrinth of Love for Soprano and Chamber Winds (2012), American Gothic for Orchestra (2013), and Tales of Hemingway for Cello and Orchestra (2015). Daugherty has been described by The Times (London) as "a master icon maker" with a "maverick imagination, fearless structural sense and meticulous ear."
The Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington, Indiana, is a music conservatory established in 1921. Until 2005, it was known as the Indiana University School of Music. It has more than 1,500 students, approximately half of whom are undergraduates, with the second largest enrollment of all music schools accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music.
Frank Ticheli is an American composer of orchestral, choral, chamber, and concert band works. He lives in Los Angeles, California, where he is a Professor of Composition at the University of Southern California. He was the Pacific Symphony's composer-in-residence from 1991 to 1998, composing numerous works for that orchestra. A number of his works are particularly notable, as they have become standards in concert band repertoire.
Bruce Faulconer is an American musician, composer and record producer. He writes music for orchestra, chamber ensembles, piano, and various instrumental, and choral music groups. Faulconer recently composed, performed, and recorded the music for the feature film, Bystander Theory in 2013. He worked on the feature film score for War and Honor. Faulconer also writes music for feature films and television series including the anime Dragon Ball Z, that has aired on Cartoon Network, it received ratings as the Nielsen Number One Rated show in Children's Programming for Cable TV, see Nielsen Company. Faulconer's Dragon Ball Z music aired on the Cartoon Network version of the series from 1999 to 2008. He is the owner and founder of Faulconer Productions, and CakeMix Recording studio.
The Henry and Leigh Bienen School of Music, or Bienen School of Music, is an undergraduate and graduate institution devoted to musical performance and academics. Located on Northwestern University's campus in Evanston, Illinois, 12 miles north of downtown Chicago, the school was known as the Northwestern University School of Music from 1895 to 2008. In September 2008, the school was named to honor retiring University president Henry Bienen and his wife, Leigh Buchanan Bienen.

James Edward Pugh is an American trombonist, composer, and educator. He is noted as the lead trombonist with Woody Herman's Thundering Herd (1972–1976) and Chick Corea's Return to Forever Band (1977–1978). For 25 years, he worked as a freelance trombonist in New York City. In recent years, he toured and recorded with the rock group Steely Dan, is a founding member of the Graham Ashton Brass Ensemble, and is on faculty as Distinguished Professor of Jazz Trombone at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Dr. Suter has a deep interest in mentoring younger musicians and is a vocal advocate for public school music programs, often serving as a guest conductor and clinician for K-12 music programs. He resides in Redlands, California, just outside Los Angeles.
The Cassatt String Quartet was founded in 1985. Originally the first participants in Juilliard's Young Artists Quartet Program, the Quartet has gone on to win many teaching fellowships and awards and has toured internationally. Named after impressionist painter Mary Cassatt, the quartet is based in New York City.

The Cinematic Symphony is a musical ensemble based in Austin, Texas. The group is composed of volunteers and is dedicated to preserving and performing the music of film and television.
The Texas Early Music Project is a performing arts ensemble based in Austin, Texas, that focuses on bringing audiences a closer knowledge and appreciation of Baroque music, Medieval music, Renaissance music, and early Classical-period music. The group uses historical instruments in keeping with historically informed performance practice. The ensemble was founded in 1987 by Daniel Johnson, who remains the group's artistic director. The group is classified as a non-profit organization and operates primarily on grant money and donations for individual and corporate supporters. Income is supplemented by ticket sales and merchandise sales. Texas Early Music Project is a member of Early Music America. Performers are primarily professional musicians from the Austin area, although performers visit from Texas at large, from all over the United States, and occasionally internationally.
The Faculty of Music at the University of Toronto is one of several professional faculties at the University of Toronto. The Faculty of Music is located at the Edward Johnson Building, just south of the Royal Ontario Museum and north of Queen's Park, west of Museum Subway Station. MacMillan Theatre and Walter Hall are located in the Edward Johnson Building. The Faculty of Music South building contains rehearsal rooms and offices, and the Upper Jazz Studio performance space is located at 90 Wellesley Street West. In January 2021, the Faculty named Dr. Ellie Hisama as the new Dean.
Jerry Junkin is an American conductor of wind bands and educator. Most notably, Junkin has served as the longtime conductor of the Dallas Wind Symphony since 1993, one of the premier wind bands in the world. He attended Victoria High School from 1970 to 1974 Junkin is on the faculty at the Butler School of Music at The University of Texas at Austin, where he has held the Vincent R. and Jane D. DiNino Chair for the Director of Bands since 1988. He conducts the Wind Ensemble, and instructs graduate as well as undergraduate conducting courses.

Roger Elgin Myers FRSA is an Australian/American concert violist and academic. He is Fellow of the Florence Thelma Hall Centennial Chair in Music and Professor of Viola at the University of Texas at Austin.
