Prince Uche Secondus (born 22 March 1955) is a Nigerian businessman,politician,and elder statesman who was the former chairman of the PDP National Working Committee in 2017 and was suspended by the party in 2021. [1] Secondus was acting chairman of the committee from 2015 to 2016. He was the second chairman of the Rivers State People's Democratic Party,a position he held for two terms.
Secondus was born and raised in Andoni. He completed his elementary and secondary education in Rivers State. He further attended the London Chambers of Commerce Institute,where he obtained a certificate in Commerce. [2]
Secondus' desire to improve the lives of Riverians led to his entering politics during the Second Republic in 1978. He served as Rivers State Youth Leader of the National Party of Nigeria (NPN),Rivers State Publicity Secretary of the National Republican Convention (NRC) (1993 –1998) and a two-term Chairman of the Rivers State People's Democratic Party. [3] While state party chair,he earned the sobriquet "Total Chairman",and headed an influential group in the National Executive Committee known as G.84. [2]
In 2007,Secondus was the South-South Coordinator for the PDP National Campaign Council that organized the campaigns for the party during that year's general elections. In 2008,at the People's Democratic Party Convention,he gained further promotion to National Organizing Secretary,holding office until 2012. Secondus is the pioneer Chairman of the Governing Board of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC). [4] On 1 September 2013,he was elected Deputy National Chairman of the People's Democratic Party. [5] He also briefly served as acting National Chairman of the party following the resignation of Adamu Mu'azu in 2015. [6] On 10 December 2017 at the Eagles square,Secondus was elected as the PDP National Working Committee chairman after a contested election. He is regarded as the best PDP chairman ever,as his tenure made PDP win more states as an opposition party. [7]

Chief Raymond Anthony Aleogho Dokpesi was a Nigerian media businessman and politician. His parents were from Agenebode,Edo state in a family including six sisters. He entered the Nigerian mass media industry with his company,the DAAR Communications and set up the Nigerian TV network Africa Independent Television (AIT). He was the organising committee chairman of the People's Democratic Party national conference in 2015. As of March 2020,he was undergoing a trial on corruption charges. In May 2020,Dokpesi survived a COVID-19 infection. He suffered a stroke shortly after the 2023 Ramadan and died from a fall on his treadmill on 29 May 2023.
Anyim Pius Anyim is a Nigerian politician who served as the 9th president of the Nigerian Senate from 2000 to 2003,he was Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) during Goodluck Jonathan presidency. The Young Progressive Party won one seat out of the 109 seats in the Nigerian Senate during the 2019 general elections.
The 2019 Imo State gubernatorial election in Nigeria occurred on 9 March 2019. PDP's Emeka Ihedioha polled 38.29% of the total votes,defeating AA's Uche Nwosu who got 26.66% of popular votes,and several minor party candidates. Out of 27 LGAs,Ihedioha won in 11,while Nwosu won in 10.
The 2023 Abia State gubernatorial election took place on 18 March 2023,to elect the Governor of Abia State,concurrent with elections to the Abia State House of Assembly as well as twenty-seven other gubernatorial elections and elections to all other state houses of assembly. The election—which was postponed from its original 11 March date—will be held three weeks after the presidential election and National Assembly elections. Incumbent PDP governor Okezie Ikpeazu was term-limited and could not seek a third term. Alex Otti,a banker,gained the office for the Labour Party by a margin of victory over first runner-up and PDP nominee—Okey Ahiwe,the former Chief of Staff to Ikpeazu.
