Ugress is an electronica project from Bergen, Norway, the main project of electronic musician Gisle Martens Meyer (GMM). Gisle started his music career in the early 1990s making Scream Tracker and Fast Tracker modules under the alias Gnosis. [1] Among Meyer's other projects are Nebular Spool, Shadow of the Beat and Ninja9000 as well as scoring soundtracks for moving pictures and several TV-shows.
Ugress has released multiple albums, singles, and EPs to date. Their first five albums: Resound , released in 2002, climbed to the second place on the official Norwegian chart board. [2] A second album, Cinematronics , was released two years later. It reached the third place on the same list. [3] A third Ugress album titled Unicorn was released on January 28, 2008. On June 15, 2009, Ugress released their fourth studio album, called Reminiscience . Collectronics , a compilation album including previously unreleased material, was released in July 2010.
Ugress is notable for providing free mp3-versions of many of its songs through its web page and the web pages of associated acts like Nebular Spool.
The Norwegian word ugress means "weeds" (not as in cannabis).
Ugress uses a lot of sample snippets from various artists, movies (in particular horror and science fiction movies) and TV shows. Ugress is not the only project of Gisle Martens Meyer, it is actually one of several different projects by Uncanny Planet Records.
Motorpsycho is a Norwegian rock band from Trondheim. Their music can generally be defined as progressive or psychedelic rock, but they also mix in elements from alternative, jazz, post-rock, pop, country and many other musical styles. The members of the band are Bent Sæther, Hans Magnus "Snah" Ryan and Tomas Järmyr (drums). Until March 2005, Håkon Gebhardt was the band's drummer. From December 2007 to May 2016 Kenneth Kapstad was the drummer of the band, being replaced by Tomas Järmyr, who joined in early 2017. Järmyr left the band in January 2023.

Xenosaga Episode I: Der Wille zur Macht is a role-playing video game developed by Monolith Soft and published by Namco for the PlayStation 2; the game was released in 2002 in Japan and 2003 in North America. Kvelertak is a Norwegian heavy metal band from Stavanger, formed in 2007. Founding member and lead singer Erlend Hjelvik left the group in 2018, being replaced by Ivar Nikolaisen. Highasakite is an indie pop and indie rock band from Norway. The band formed when vocalist and songwriter Ingrid Helene Håvik met drummer Trond Bersu whilst studying jazz at the Trondheim Jazz Conservatory. In 2010, after just six months, the duo started working on their debut album. The album All That Floats Will Rain was released in 2012.

"Fools Lullaby" is a song recorded by Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler for her ninth studio album, Angel Heart (1992). It was released by Hansa Records as the lead single from the album, written by Tyler's at-the-time producer, Dieter Bohlen. The single was most successful in Norway where it peaked at number six. The lyrics depict Tyler asking her ex-lover to rekindle their relationship.

Julie Bergan is a Norwegian singer and songwriter born in Skien, Norway. Bergan started releasing covers on YouTube at the age of 16, eventually signing a record deal with Warner Music Norway in 2013. In 2015 she attained mainstream success with her single All Hours, crossing borders to Denmark and Germany, before breaking though in her native Norway in 2016 with Arigato peaking at number one. Marshmello's debut studio album Joytime was released through his Joytime Collective record label on January 8, 2016. Despite failing to debut on the Billboard 200, the album peaked on three Billboard charts: Dance/Electronic Albums, Top Heatseekers and Independent Albums, at number five, fourteen and forty-one, respectively.
