Uma Nath Singh Autonomous State Medical College (formerly Government Medical College, Janupur) is a state medical college located near Jaunpur in Jaunpur district, Uttar Pradesh, India. [1] It is situated in Karanjakala block of Jaunpur district which is on Shahganj Road, connecting Jaunpur to Shahganj. The foundation stone was laid on 24 September 2014.

History

The foundation stone of the Government Medical College, in Jaunpur was laid by Akhilesh Yadav, a former chief-minister of Uttar Pradesh, on 25 September 2014. [2]

In September 2019, the Government of Uttar Pradesh had decided to form a autonomous society that could run the college. [3] In July 2021, Yogi Adityanath announced the name of college to be changed to Umanath Singh Medical College. [4]

Purvanchal Expressway is a 340.8 km long, 6-lane wide access-controlled expressway in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. The expressway connects Chand Saray village near Gosainganj in Lucknow district with Haydaria village on NH-31 in Ghazipur district. It is developed by the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA). The Purvanchal Expressway has a 3.2 km long airstrip at Akhalkiri Karwat village near Kurebhar in Sultanpur district for emergency landing of aircraft. The construction work was started by the UPEIDA on 10 October 2018 and was inaugurated and opened to the public on 16 November 2021.

The Nandwaks/Nanwag Rajputs are a branch of the Sisodiya Rajputs in what is now the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. In the 16th century, they seized a portion of Pandrah pargana and ruled there for many years. The villages of Kathiraon, Newarhia lying at 25" 31' N longitude and 82" 80' E latitude and Barsathi, latitude 25" 34' N and longitude 82" 91' E in Mariahu tehsil, were administered by the Nanwag Rajputs from the 16th century to the later part of the 19th century. Bundelkhand Expressway is an 296 km long, 4-lane wide under-construction access-controlled expressway in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. It will connect Gonda village on NH-35 in Chitrakoot district with Kudrail village on Agra–Lucknow Expressway in Etawah district. Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid down the foundation stone of Bundelkhand Expressway on 29 February 2020. The expressway will boost tourism to Chitrakoot Dham.
