UnCruise Adventures (formerly American Safari Cruises) is an American-owned small ship adventure cruise line founded in Everett, Washington. In 2008, the then American Safari Cruises was purchased by the parent company InnerSea Discoveries Alaska Inc. [5] In early 2013 after a fleet expansion, the American Safari Cruises was renamed to Un-Cruise Adventures. [6] In 2016, the company rebranded itself UnCruise Adventures, while also unveiling a new logo. [7] Currently the cruise line operates 9 ships, 8 of which are fully owned, and a majority sailing under the U.S. flag. The cruise liner operates two headquarters, the main headquarters is located in Seattle, Washington and the second located in Juneau, Alaska. It offers small group tours and expedition voyages in destinations ranging from Alaska to the Galápagos Islands. [8] [9]

History

UnCruise Adventures was founded as the American Safari Cruises in 1996 in order to provide small yacht cruises in Alaska. [6] Following in 1997, the American Safari Cruise commenced operations with a charted yacht. [10] [11]

The company focuses on small vessels, with capacities ranging from 22 to 88. Their tours take guests on seven to twenty-one night trips to destinations such as Alaska, British Columbia, coastal Washington, Columbia and Snake Rivers, Mexico, Hawaii, Costa Rica and Panama. The focus is on nature. [7]

UnCruise Adventures was listed on Conde Nast's "Best Cruise Ships in the World" 2021 list, [12] and number 8 on USA Today's 2021 "Best Adventure Cruise Line" list.

In May 2014, Windstar added to its sailing yachts by adding the Star Pride power yacht, followed by Star Breeze and Star Legend in May 2015. The additional capacity opened up new itineraries such as voyages to Iceland, the Panama Canal, and Costa Rica and allowed Windstar Cruises to sail Tahiti year round.

Swan Hellenic is a British cruise line specialising in expedition tours of historical or cultural interest aimed at the upper end of the cruise market. Swan Hellenic was first established as Swan's Tours in the 1950s as a tour operator carrying guests to historic sites, providing enrichment throughout their trips. In 1983, Swan Hellenic was acquired by P&O and became a subsidiary of Carnival Corporation & plc in 2003, but it ended operations in 2007 after Carnival discontinued the brand. Shortly after, All Leisure Holidays Group purchased and revived Swan Hellenic, but ended its operations in 2017. G Adventures acquired the brand later that year and planned to revive it for a second time in 2018, but sold the brand to a private group in 2020, which plans to resume Swan Hellenic's operations with its first-ever new-build ship in 2021.

MS <i>Queen Elizabeth</i> Cruise ship

MS Queen Elizabeth (QE) is a cruise ship of the Vista class operated by the Cunard Line. The design is modified compared to earlier ships of the same class, and slightly larger than Queen Victoria, at 92,000 GT. This is due to a more vertical stern, and additional cabins for single travelers. The bow of Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria are both reinforced having thicker than the standard for hull plating, to handle North Atlantic weather. The ship is able to carry up to 2,092 passengers.

Cruise West was an independent, destination focused small-ship cruise operator based in Seattle, Washington. The line was the largest operator of U.S. flagged cruise vessels with nine currently operating. They were best known for their Alaska cruises but their reach includes destinations all around the Pacific Ocean. Cruise West announced on September 18, 2010, that it is ceasing operations.
