Model United Nations, also known as Model UN or MUN, is an educational model of the United Nations used for simulations in which students learn about diplomacy and international relations. At a MUN conference, each student works as the representative of a country, organization, or person, and must solve a problem with other delegates from around the world.
The International Progress Organization (IPO) is a Vienna-based think tank dealing with world affairs. As an international non-governmental organization (NGO) it enjoys consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations and is associated with the United Nations Department of Public Information. The organization aims at promoting peaceful co-existence among all nations, in particular the dialogue among civilizations; a just international economic order; global respect for human rights; and the international rule of law. These associations are supporting the goals and principles of the United Nations Charter and it is their aim to promote these principles and the work of the United Nations among their national civil society.

Model Arab League is an educational simulation in which students learn about diplomacy and international relations through debates in multi-regional model competitions, competing as representatives from the Member States of the Arab League. MAL was established in 1983 by The National Council on US - Arab Relations as a Youth Leadership Development Program.

Prague Student Summit (PSS) (Czech: Pražský studentský summit) is an educational project for high school and university students, which has more than 20 years of tradition in the Czech Republic. Through simulation of negotiations of international organizations, the participants have the opportunity to widen their knowledge in fields like international affairs, human rights, economy, cultural heritage and environment. At the same time, they can develop their rhetorical, presentation and argumentation skills. The Prague Student Summit gives the participants a unique opportunity to get a glimpse of the world of diplomacy and international relations. It is a project that endorses the idea of informal education, puts emphasis on the development of individual and this way complements the education in Czech schools.
The Nizhny Novgorod International Model United Nations, is a model that has been held by the Faculty of International Relations at N. I. Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod since 2007. More than 130 students per year take part in it being citizens either of foreign countries or different regions of Russia. Since 2010, the Nizhny Novgorod School Model United Nations has been realized under the frameworks of the NNovIMUN.

Its aim is to promote the ideals and principles of the United Nations by giving students a chance to participate in educative events.
