The building was completed in 1938. [3] It was designed in the Colonial Revival architectural style. [3] In 1940, Stuart R. Purser painted a mural inside the building. [3]

Governor Stone is an historic schooner, built in 1877 in Pascagoula, Mississippi, United States. She is the only surviving two-masted coasting cargo schooner built on the Gulf Coast of the United States, and is only one of five such surviving US-built ships. On 4 December 1991, she was added to the US National Register of Historic Places. One year later, the schooner was designated a US National Historic Landmark. She is presently berthed at Saint Andrews Marina in Panama City, Florida, where she is maintained by a nonprofit group. Sailing tours are regularly scheduled.

A Mississippi Landmark is a building officially nominated by the Mississippi Department of Archives and History and approved by each county's chancery clerk. The Mississippi Landmark designation is the highest form of recognition bestowed on properties by the state of Mississippi, and designated properties are protected from changes that may alter the property's historic character. The United States Post Office and Courthouse in Meridian, Mississippi was built in 1933. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. It is a three-story limestone building built in a classical Art Deco style which was home to Meridian's main post office and a federal courthouse from its construction in 1933 until 2012 when the federal courthouse was closed due to budget cuts. The building itself is still open and still houses the post office.
The U.S. Post Office and Customhouse in Gulfport, Mississippi is a historic post office and customhouse that was completed in 1910 under supervision of the U.S. Treasury Department, with James Knox Taylor as Supervising Architect. One of the oldest public or commercial structures in the city, it also has been known as Downtown Station and as Old Main Post Office. In 1963 a one-story extension to the rear was added.
The U.S. Courthouse and Post Office in Aberdeen, Mississippi was built in 1885. Also known as Old Federal Building, it served historically as a courthouse and as a post office. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.
The Old Custom House is a historic government building in downtown Cairo, Illinois. Built from 1869 to 1872, the building served as a customs house, post office, and courthouse. Alfred B. Mullett, the U.S. Supervising Architect at the time, designed the building in the Italianate style, a rarity among federal buildings; his design features a bracketed cornice and rounded windows. When Cairo built a new post office in 1942, the building became the town's police station. The building is one of the few surviving U.S. custom houses and one of the largest federal buildings of its era in the Mid-Mississippi Valley region.
