University street (Ukrainian : Вулиця Університетська, Russian : улица Университетская) is a street in central Donetsk, Ukraine. [1] It is located in the city's Kyivskyi Raion and Voroshylovskyi Raion.

Amvrosiivka Raion was a raion (district) within the eastern part of Donetsk Oblast in eastern Ukraine. The raion was abolished on 18 July 2020 as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Donetsk Oblast to eight. However, since 2014 the raion was not under control of Ukrainian government and has been part of the Donetsk People's Republic which continues using it as an administrative unit. The administrative center of the raion is the town of Amvrosiivka. The last estimate of the raion population, reported by the Ukrainian government, was 43,759. In 2022, the Donetsk People's Republic including the Amvrosiivka Raion was annexed by Russia.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Battle in Shakhtarsk Raion</span> July–August 2014 battle of the war in Donbas

The Battle in Shakhtarsk Raion began on 16 July 2014, when the Armed Forces of Ukraine attempted to cut off the Russian backed separatists’ supply lines from Russia. Fighting broke out around the towns of Marynivka, Dmytrivka, Stepanivka, Shakhtarsk, as well as the strategic hill of Savur-Mohyla. It later spread to the cities of Snizhne and Torez. While the battle was in progress, a civilian passenger airliner, Malaysia Airlines Flight 17, was shot down near Hrabove on 17 July. Amidst a wide counter-offensive by the Russian proxy forces and their Russian backers across Donbas, government troops were forced out of Shakhtarsk Raion on 26 August.

Staromykhailivka, sometimes transcribed as Staromikhailovka, is a rural settlement in Donetsk urban hromada, Donetsk Raion, Donetsk Oblast in Ukraine. Due to occupation of the settlement and other eastern portions of Marinka Raion by Russian forces, in 2020 the raion was dissolved and most of it still controlled by Ukraine merged with Volnovakha Raion. Population: 5,091.

Donetsk Raion is a prospective raion (district) of Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine. It was formally created in July 2020 as part of the reform of administrative divisions of Ukraine. The center of the raion is in the city of Donetsk. Population: 1,484,514. Most of the area of the raion is occupied by Russia, which continues to use the old, pre-2020 administrative divisions of Ukraine. Much of the raion was occupied by Russian-controlled militias during the Donbas war until the village of Kruta Balka was the only unoccupied locality. In the 2022 Russian invasion, the remainder was occupied.
