The Russia women's national handball team is the national team of the Russian Federation. It is governed by the Handball Federation of Russia and takes part in international handball competitions.
The Norway women's national handball team represents Norway at international handball competitions, and is governed by the Norges Håndballforbund (NHF). As of December 2024, Norway has been in 27 finals and is regarded as one of the finest women's national handball teams ever, with 34 medals.

Marit Breivik is a Norwegian former handball player and coach. She is one of the most decorated national team coaches in handball history and won thirteen championship medals with the Norwegian women's national handball team during a fifteen-year reign, including the gold medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics, the World Championship in 1999, and the European Championship in 1998, 2004, 2006 and 2008. Breivik won three Norwegian national championships and two league titles during her career as a player. She was capped 140 times and scored 286 goals for the Norwegian national team from 1975 to 1983.
Unni Lehn is a retired Norwegian football midfielder. She has 133 appearances for Norway's national team. In 2000 Lehn played 86 minutes of the Olympic Final in Sydney, in which Norway beat the US in extra time to take the gold medal. She lives in Trondheim and played for Trondheims-Ørn from 1994 onwards, with over 400 appearances for the club during which they won the Norwegian league title and the Norwegian Cup competition several times. From 2001 to 2003 she played in the US with Carolina Courage. She announced her retirement from football at the end of 2007.
Katja Johanna Alice Nyberg is a naturalized Norwegian former handball player. She played 99 games and scored 321 goals for the Norwegian national team during her career. With the Norwegian team she won a gold medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing and a silver medal at the 2007 World Women's Handball Championship in France, as well as two gold medals and one silver medal at the European Championships.

As a club player she is several times Norwegian champion and once Danish champion, and has won the EHF Cup, EHF Cup Winners' Cup and the EHF Champions League.
Else-Marthe Sørlie Lybekk is a retired Norwegian team handball player, world champion from 1999, gold medalist from the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, and bronze medalist from the 2000 Olympics. She is also a triple European champion with the Norwegian national team, which she previously captained prior to the reign of fellow Gjøvik handballer Gro Hammerseng. She is the only player on the Norwegian team that received all the first five gold medals that the national team won up to the 2008 Olympics. Ending her career for Nordstrand in her second spell, she has previously played for Leipzig, Nordstrand, Snertingdal and Toten.
Kristine Lunde-Borgersen is a retired Norwegian handballer who played for the Norwegian national team. She is Olympic champion, World Champion and three times European champion. She is the twin sister of fellow handball player Katrine Lunde. On 13 June 2017, she announced her return to playing handball for the 2017–2018 season, to replace Marta Tomac, who is out of play following a severe injury.

Halén won a silver medal with the Norwegian team at the 2001 World Women's Handball Championship in Italy. She played for Bækkelagets SK and Nordstrand IF in Norway, Spanish Mislata, Danish Ikast-Bording Elite Håndbold. She retired in 2009.
Turid Smedsgård is a Norwegian former handball goalkeeper. She played 113 matches for the Norway women's national handball team from 1978 onwards. She participated at the 1982 World Women's Handball Championship, where the Norwegian team placed seventh. Smedsgård was voted best goalkeeper of the tournament.
