Unravelled Broken Orchestra

Unravelled Broken Orchestra was an avant garde ensemble based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. With a core of regular players (Christopher Friesen, Terence Fuller, Jaret McNabb, Fletcher Pratt, Robert Turnbull) and an open-door policy to others, they create soundscapes that were equally inspired by Miles Davis and Sonic Youth. Their debut cd Centre of the Universe in Reverse was independently released late 2005.[ citation needed ]

In 2009, they changed their name to Broken Orchestra of Winnipeg. In 2012, Friesen and McNabb changed their name to Seafreezing and digitally released the album This is Not a Guarantee, It's a Possibility. [1] They continued to post songs to 2017. [2]

An eleven-member musical collective, the band incorporates elements of rock music, blues, jazz, funk and traditional First Nations music into its style. African, Middle Eastern and Latin beats are also included in their songs, as is a big band sound from the horn section.

Getting Into Knives is the nineteenth studio album by indie folk band the Mountain Goats, released on October 23, 2020, through Merge Records. The album was recorded in March 2020 over six days at Sam Philips Recording in Memphis, in the same room where psychobilly band the Cramps tracked their 1980 debut album Songs the Lord Taught Us. Getting Into Knives was produced, engineered, and mixed by Matt Ross-Spang, who previously engineered In League with Dragons (2019). In addition to being available on streaming and download services, the album also saw physical release on CD, vinyl, and cassette.
