Live at Hammersmith Odeon is the first live album by the British singer Kate Bush. It is a recording of her first of only two concert tours, The Tour of Life from 1979, first released on home video in 1981. The video of The Tour of Life was re-released in 1994 as a boxed set that included a CD version of the performance.
Screaming Lord Sutch and the Savages were a British rock group from the early 1960s, sporting an ever-changing line-up of musicians and a taste for horror themes and zany humour. The group was founded by drummer Carlo Little, who was a friend of David Sutch, better known as Screaming Lord Sutch.
The Honeydrippers were a rock and roll band of the 1980s, deriving their name from Roosevelt Sykes, an American blues singer also known as "Honeydripper". Former Led Zeppelin lead singer Robert Plant formed the group in 1981 to satisfy his long-time goal in having a rock band with a heavy rhythm and blues basis. Formed originally in Worcestershire, the band was also composed of fellow former Led Zeppelin member Jimmy Page; Jeff Beck ; and other friends and well-known studio musicians including original Judas Priest guitarist Ernest Chataway. The band released only one recording, an EP titled The Honeydrippers: Volume One, on 12 November 1984.
Morph the Cat is the third studio album by American singer-songwriter Donald Fagen. Released on March 7, 2006 to generally positive reviews from critics, Morph the Cat was described by Fagen as his "death album" in an interview with Fred Kaplan of The New York Times. Musicians on the album include drummer Keith Carlock, saxophonist Walt Weiskopf, bassist Freddie Washington, and guitarists Frank Vignola, Jon Herington, Wayne Krantz, and Hugh McCracken.
"Kiss Me, Baby" is a song written by Brian Wilson and Mike Love for the American rock band The Beach Boys. It was first released on the 1965 album The Beach Boys Today! and later as the B-side of the US number one hit "Help Me, Rhonda". Thomas Ward of AllMusic calls the song a product of Wilson's "dense, multi-layered confessional songs, with adult themes and exploring issues previously only developed by performers such as Bob Dylan".
"I Get Around" is a song written by Brian Wilson and Mike Love for American rock band the Beach Boys. It was released as a single in May 1964 with "Don't Worry Baby" as its B-side and became the group's first number-one charting song in the United States. In the United Kingdom, it charted at number seven and was the band's first top ten single there. It was included as the opening track on their studio album All Summer Long in July 1964.
"Dandelion" is a song by the English rock band the Rolling Stones, written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, and first released as a B-side to "We Love You" in August 1967. With lyrical references to British counting or nursery rhymes, it reached number eight on the UK Singles Chart and number 14 on the US Billboard 100 singles chart.
Missing Links is a compilation album of rare and previously unreleased songs by the Monkees, issued by Rhino Records in 1987. It is the first volume of a three-volume set, followed by Missing Links Volume Two in 1990 and Missing Links Volume Three in 1996.
The Rolling Stones' European Tour 1982 was a concert tour of Europe to promote the album Tattoo You. It was in effect the European continuation of their long and successful 1981 US tour, and promoted by Bill Graham. It was during the Berlin concert on 8 June 1982 that thousands of balloons were released, inspiring a member of the audience, the guitarist Carlo Karges from the band Nena to write the song "99 Luftballons", which became a worldwide hit. The final show of the tour has been released as Live at Leeds; the tour was the last the Stones would conduct for seven years.
The Freeze was an Edinburgh punk band that lasted from 1976–1981. Wanting to do something darker and noisier, Gordon Sharp and David Clancy took ideas from The Freeze to a greater extreme; the result was the formation of Cindytalk in 1982.
"Something Happened to Me Yesterday" is the closing track of The Rolling Stones' 1967 album Between the Buttons.
"Come On" is a song written and first released by Chuck Berry in 1961. It has been recorded in many versions by a large number of bands since its release, most notably the Rolling Stones. "Come On" failed to chart in the US Top 100, but the B-side, "Go Go Go", reached number 38 on UK charts.
Peace in the Valley is an EP by American singer and musician Elvis Presley, released in April 1957 on RCA Victor Records in mono with catalogue number EPA 4054. It reached number three on the short-lived Billboard EP chart, number three on the album chart and number 39 on the singles chart.
Hexbreaker! is the second album by The Fleshtones. The album was recorded at Skyline Studios in New York City in March 1983 and produced by Richard Mazda. All songs were composed by band members with the exception of "Burning Hell", a cover of a song originally written and performed by John Lee Hooker. The band also recorded "Can't Get Enough Of Your Love" by The Dantes and "She'e My Baby" by Johnny O'Keefe during the sessions, however neither made the album. A dance remix was made of the title track with engineer David Lichtenstein and retitled "Super Hexbreaker", which later appeared on the European EP of "American Beat' 84".
Fleshtones vs. Reality is an album released on Emergo Records in 1987 by The Fleshtones. The album was recorded at the Record Plant in New York City in the fall of 1986 with the exception of two songs, "Return of the Leather Kings" and "Too Late To Run", which were recorded in May 1986 at Axis Sound Studio in Atlanta, Georgia. All songs were composed by band members with the exception of "Treat Her Like A Lady", a cover of the 1971 hit by the Cornelius Brothers and Sister Rose.
Speed Connection II – The Final Chapter is a live album by The Fleshtones. The album was recorded live at The Gibus Club, Paris, France on March 7, 1985. The band were booked to play nine shows at the club over a two-week span, in two segments. The opening band for these shows were Les Playboys.
"Sherry She Needs Me" is a song written in 1965 by Brian Wilson and Russ Titelman for the American rock band the Beach Boys. The recording was not released until decades later. As a solo artist in 1998, Wilson completed the song with lyric changes by Carole Bayer Sager; it was renamed "She Says That She Needs Me" and released on his album Imagination.
The Split Squad is a Rock and Roll band composed of Clem Burke (drums), Michael Giblin (bass/vocals), Josh Kantor (keyboards), Eddie Munoz, and Keith Streng (guitar/vocals). Each member came to the public's attention as a member of another band, e.g., Burke is in Blondie, Giblin founded the Parallax Project, Kantor is in The Baseball Project, Munoz is in The Plimsouls, and Streng is in The Fleshtones. Since many of the members of the band follow baseball, this led Annie Laurent Streng, Keith Streng's former wife, to propose the band's name. The term refers to the practice, during Major League Baseball's Spring training, of teams often playing "split-squad games". This occurs when a team splits into two sub-teams, or squads, and each squad plays a game against another team on the same day. In addition to touring on both coasts, Canada, and Europe, the band's debut album, Now Hear This... was available for sale at shows in late 2013, and officially released through the usual online vendors in CD format on January 21, 2014. The album was released on vinyl in time for Record Store Day - April 19, 2014.
Happy New Year is an EP released by the Violent Femmes for Record Store Day on April 18, 2015. It was the first recording of original songs by the band in 15 years. The EP was released on 12-inch, 180-gram, champagne-colored vinyl, and later made available for digital download on June 2, 2015
