Upper Bethlehem is a settlement on the island of Saint Croix in the United States Virgin Islands.

She was named after Thomas McKean, an American lawyer and politician from New Castle, in New Castle County, Delaware and Philadelphia. McKean served as a President of Congress. He was at various times a member of the Federalist and Democratic-Republican parties. McKean served as President of Delaware, Chief Justice of Pennsylvania, and Governor of Pennsylvania. He is also known for holding copious public positions.
