Inlet is a town in Hamilton County, New York, United States. The population was 355 at the 2020 census, up from 333 in 2010. The name is derived from its location at the eastern end (inlet) of Fourth Lake, part of the Fulton Chain of Lakes.
Cranberry Lake is on the east branch of the Oswegatchie River in the Adirondack Park in New York in the United States. It is the third largest lake in the Adirondack Park. About 75 percent of the shoreline is owned by the State of New York. The 118,000-acre (480 km2) Five Ponds Wilderness Area abuts its south shore, and the Cranberry Lake Wild Forest covers much of its remaining shoreline.
The Pigeon Lake Wilderness Area, an Adirondack Park unit of the forest preserve, lies in the town of Webb, Herkimer County, and the towns of Long Lake and Inlet in Hamilton County. It is bounded on the north by Stillwater Reservoir and large blocks of private land in the vicinity of Rose Pond, Shingle Shanty Pond and Upper Sister Lake; on the east by a private road from Brandreth Lake to North Point and by Raquette Lake; on the south by private lands along the Uncas Road; and on the west by the Big Moose Road, private lands near Big Moose Lake, Thirsty Pond, Twitchell Lake, Razorback Pond, and the Remsen to Lake Placid railroad tracks.
Brown Tract Pond Campground is a campground run by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation in Raquette Lake, New York. It is located on the shores of Browns Tract Pond in a remote area of the Adirondacks, approximately two miles (3.2 km) from Raquette Lake, near the town of Inlet in Hamilton County.
Brantingham Lake is a 327-acre (1.32 km2) lake, within the Adirondack Park, located east of Brantingham, New York in Lewis County, New York. Home to both seasonal and year-round residents, the lake and surrounding area offer boating, fishing, hunting, hiking, biking, as well as trails for all terrain vehicle, horse, and snowmobile. During the winter months, the area receives an average 150 inches of snow, making Brantingham a popular destination for winter enthusiasts.
North Lake is a lake located by Atwell, New York and is the source of the Black River. North Lake is one of several lakes in Herkimer County that has a medium acid content, and is therefore not a big fish producer. The fish species present are tiger muskie, white sucker, perch, and bullhead. Boating is permitted, limited to a small gravel based boat launch in Atwell.
Stillwater Reservoir is a man-made lake located by Beaver River, New York within the Western Adirondacks. The lake has a large amount of recreational uses including camping, canoeing, boating, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing. The lake has undeveloped edges with remote camping on both the islands and the shoreline. Camping permits and lake information may be obtained from the hamlet of Stillwater at the Forest Ranger Headquarters. Fish species present in the reservoir are smallmouth bass, splake, rock bass, yellow perch, sunfish and brown trout. There is a state owned hard surface ramp on Stillwater Road, 28 miles east of Lowville, New York. the record low temperature for the state of New York of −52 °F (−47 °C) took place at Stillwater Reservoir, and was later tied by Old Forge on February 17, 1979.
Wolf Pond is a lake located north of Stillwater, New York. Fish species present in the lake are brook trout, brown bullhead, and sunfish. There is a trail leading to the lake from Cage Lake on the east shore. No motors are allowed on Wolf Pond.
Clear Lake is located northeast of Stillwater, New York. The outflow creek flows into Witchhopple Lake. Fish species present in the lake are brown bullhead, and brook trout. Access via trail off Red Horse Trail and Salmon Lake Trail on the south shore. No motors are allowed on Clear Lake.
Fourth Lake is located near Eagle Bay, New York and Inlet, New York. Fourth Lake is part of the Fulton Chain Lakes. Fish species present in the lake are lake trout, atlantic salmon, landlocked salmon, white sucker, brook trout, rainbow trout, yellow perch, and brown trout. Hard surface ramp on Route 28, 10 miles east of Old Forge and there is a hand launch access on South Shore Road.
Cranberry Pond is located northwest of Raquette Lake, New York. Fish species present in the pond are brook trout, brown trout, white sucker, sunfish and black bullhead. There is access by trail from Brown Tract Road. No motors are allowed on the pond.
Sixth Lake is located near Inlet, New York. It is part of the Fulton Chain Lakes. The inlet is connected to Seventh Lake by a channel and the outlet is connected to Fifth Lake by a creek. Fish species present in the lake are brown trout, lake whitefish, lake trout, smelt, splake, rainbow trout, white sucker, black bullhead, yellow perch, and pumpkinseed sunfish. There is access via a channel from Seventh Lake.
Seventh Lake is located near Inlet, New York. It is part of the Fulton Chain Lakes. The outlet flows through a channel into Sixth Lake and the main inlet flows through a creek from Eighth Lake. Fish species present in the lake are brown trout, lake whitefish, lake trout, smelt, landlocked salmon, rainbow trout, white sucker, black bullhead, yellow perch, and pumpkinseed sunfish. There is a state owned hard surface ramp of NY-28, 3 miles east of Inlet with parking for 20 trucks and trailers.
Fifth Lake is located near Inlet, New York. It is part of the Fulton Chain Lakes. The inlet is connected to Sixth Lake by a creek and the outlet is connected to Fourth Lake by a channel. Fish species present in the lake are brown trout, lake trout, smelt, rainbow trout, black bullhead, yellow perch, and pumpkinseed sunfish. There is access via a channel from Fourth Lake.
Lower Browns Tract Pond is located northeast of Inlet, New York. Fish species present in the lake are largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, brook trout, black bullhead, yellow perch, and sunfish. There is a state owned carry down in the campground off Browns Tract Road, 7 miles east of Eagle Bay. No motors are allowed on this lake.
Round Pond is a lake located south of Indian Lake, New York. Fish species present in the lake are brown trout, black bullhead, sunfish, and white sucker. Access to the lake via trail from Big Brook Road. No motors are allowed on this lake.
Cedar Lake is located northwest of Sled Harbor, New York. Fish species present in the lake are brook trout, black bullhead, and white sucker. There is trail access on the north and west shores from Sled Harbor. There is also trail access to Whitney Lake. No motors are allowed on this lake.
Lizard Pond is located in the Adirondack Mountains southwest of Garnet Lake, New York. Fish species present in the lake are brook trout, and black bullhead. There is carry down trail access off Garnet Lake on the southeast shore.
Upper Fish Pond is located southeast of Oregon, New York. Fish species present in the lake are pickerel, white sucker, sunfish, and brown bullhead. There is a trail along the east shore.
Island Pond is a lake located east of Brant Lake, New York. Fish species present in the lake are brook trout, and brown bullhead. There is a carry down trail from Long Pond.
