V. Sekhar is an Indian film director and writer who works primarily in Tamil cinema. [2]
Sekhar was born in a village called Neivanatham near Tiruvannamalai. [1] After completing B. A. and P. U. C. at Tiruvannamalai, Sekar briefly worked as Malaria Eradication Worker at Corporation Health Department. On the insistence of B. Lenin, Sekar joined the film industry by assisting K. Bhagyaraj in films like Enga Chinna Rasa (1987). He made his directorial debut with Neengalum Herothan (1990). [3]
He was primarily active in the 90s and early 2000s. Sekhar has made immense contribution to the popularity of family drama films and TV shows. He always puts a personal touch in his films which are loved by the viewers, especially the middle-class audiences. V Sekhar usually uses mediocre backdrops in his movies, and mostly portrays middle-class households through his films. He has strictly maintained that his screenplay doesn’t change from the very first draft. In his interviews, he has confessed that for him, the story is the backbone of the movie.
He has also worked with known comedian actors Goundamani, Senthil, Charle, Vivek, Vadivelu and Kovai Sarala.
The veteran has directed about 18 Tamil films like Varavu Ettana Selavu Pathana (1994), Naan Petha Magane (1995), Kaalam Maari Pochu (1996) and Viralukketha Veekkam (1999) starring big names from the Tamil movie industry. He has also directed a few TV shows namely Porantha Veeda Puguntha Veeda (2007-2008) which aired on Sun TV and Veetukku Veedu (2010-2011) which aired on Raj TV. [4]
He began work on his latest venture in directing Saravana Poigai, starring his son Karl Marx in the lead role but the film remains unreleased. [5] He was arrested on 12 August 2015, by the Idol Wing, Economic Offences Wing for suspected role in an idol smuggling racket. [6] [7]
Sekar has directed mainly family-themed drama films, and has been likened to Visu who did the same. [8] [9] He often produced his own films through the studio Thiruvalluvar Kalaikoodam alongside his business partner K. Parthiban. [10]
Bheemaa is a 2008 Indian Tamil-language crime action film written and directed by N. Linguswamy, and produced by A. M. Rathnam. It stars Vikram, Trisha, Prakash Raj, Raghuvaran, and Ashish Vidyarthi. The film score and soundtrack was composed by Harris Jayaraj; whilst the cinematography was handled R. D. Rajasekhar, and edited by Anthony. After two years of production delays, the film was released on 15 January 2008, to mixed reviews.
Saravana is a 2006 Indian Tamil-language action romance film directed by K. S. Ravikumar. It stars Silambarasan, Jyothika, Five Star Krishna, Vivek, and Prakash Raj. The film was produced by Deivanai Movies and the soundtrack was composed by Srikanth Deva. It is a remake of the 2005 Telugu film Bhadra.

Mano is also recognized for being as the full-fledged dubbing artist for Rajinikanth in Telugu from Muthu (1995) onwards.
Pokkiri (transl. Rogue) is a 2007 Indian Tamil-language action film directed by Prabhu Deva and produced by Kanagarathna Movies. It is the Tamil remake of the 2006 Telugu film Pokiri directed by Puri Jagannadh. The film stars Vijay in the lead role alongside Asin, Prakash Raj, Nassar, Mukesh Tiwari, Vadivelu, Sriman, Anandaraj, Napoleon, Vincent Asokan, Subbaraju and Master Bharath. The film is about a young IPS officer who works for Police Commissioner Mohammed Maideen Khan IPS and goes undercover as a rogue to take out the anti-socials.
Unnai Kodu Ennai Tharuven is a 2000 Indian Tamil-language war drama film produced by R. B. Choudary of Super Good Films and directed by Kavi Kalidas, in his only directorial credit. The film stars Ajith Kumar and Simran in the lead roles, while Nassar, Raghava Lawrence, Manivannan, and Kitty play supporting roles and Parthiban in a guest appearance. The music was composed by S. A. Rajkumar with cinematography by Agilan and editing by V. Jaishankar. The film released on 19 May 2000 and failed at the box office.
Paadha Kaanikkai is a 1962 Tamil-language drama film directed by K. Shankar and written by M. S. Solamalai. The film stars Gemini Ganesan and Savitri, with C. R. Vijayakumari, M. R. Radha, and Kamal Haasan in supporting roles. It was released on 14 July 1962.

The film stars Arjun and Simran, while Manorama, Vadivelu, Tejashree, and Sarath Babu play supporting roles. The score and soundtrack was composed by Pravin Mani. The film released on 24 October 2003 and was a success.

Enga Chinna Rasa is a 1987 Indian Tamil-language drama film written, directed by, and starring K. Bhagyaraj. The story was inspired by the Kannada novel Ardhaangi by B. Puttaswamayya. It was released on 17 June 1987. The film was remade in Telugu as Abbayigaru, in Hindi as Beta and in Kannada as Annayya.

The film released on 4 May 2007.
Neelambaradhan, better known by his stage name Neelan Sekar, is an Indian Film director and Screenwriter, works predominantly in Tamil cinema. He started his career as a dialogue writer for Arinthum Ariyamalum. He made his directing debut with Alibhabha in 2008, with, actor Kreshna in the lead role, produced by Pattiyal Sekhar. His work as a screenwriter includes movies like Naan, Super Deluxe, Maara and Cobra. He has also co-written Fingertip produced by Vishnuvardhan in 2019. He received the Best Screenplay Writer award from the Ananda Vikatan Cinema Awards for his work in Super Deluxe along with Thiagarajan Kumararaja, Mysskin, and Nalan Kumarasamy.
