VK Bosna is a professional water polo club from Sarajevo, Bosnia. It was formed in 1984 and is the strongest waterpolo team in the Bosnia and Herzegovina Waterpolo League, which comprises five teams total. The club is part of the University Sport Society USD Bosna (Bosnian : Univerzitetsko Sportsko Društvo Bosna).
Waterpolo in Sarajevo was not a major sport for some time. It mainly developed after World War II, but it ceased in 1967. In the mid 1980s plans developed to form such a club, and what became VK Bosna was organized in 1984. In late 1980s amid financial crisis in the former Yugoslavia, the club ceased to exist. In 2008 the club was re-established, and is the dominant such club in the country. Currently it has Senior and Junior sections.
In recent years the club has been cooperating with some of the high-ranking waterpolo clubs in the former Yugoslavia, such as PVK Jadran.

Horde Zla is the organized Ultras group that supports Bosnian football club FK Sarajevo. The group's logo consists of a stylized depiction of the Grim Reaper, borrowed from a Zagor comic book at the time of the group's inception. Horde zla is one of two major football fan groups in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Apart from FK Sarajevo, the group also supports KK Bosna Royal and RK Bosna Sarajevo. The group's organizational structure is fairly decentralized with many subgroups present at the stadium's north stand – the gathering point of the club's most loyal and passionate fans. Some of the most well known subgroups are Outlaws, Maroon Brothers, Vutrasi, Fina Gradska Raja and Downtown.
Visoko is a city located in the Zenica-Doboj Canton of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, an entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. As of 2013, the municipality had a population of 39,938 inhabitants with 11,205 living in Visoko town. Located between Zenica and Sarajevo, Visoko lies where the river Fojnica joins the Bosna.

Sport in Yugoslavia had a significant role in its culture and society. Team sports such as football, basketball, handball, volleyball and water polo had the biggest popularity. Of individual sports the most popular were tennis, athletics, alpine skiing, swimming, table tennis, ski jumping and chess. Yugoslavia made its debut at the Summer Olympics in 1920. Until its break up in 1992, it competed in 16 Summer and 14 Winter Olympic games and won a total of 87 medals in various summer and winter sports. Yugoslavia hosted its first and the only Winter Olympic games in 1984 in Sarajevo when Jure Franko won country's first Winter Olympic medal, silver in alpine skiing.
KK Bosna Meridianbet is a professional basketball team based in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is the most successful Bosnian club of all time, having been the EuroLeague champion by winning the 1978–79 FIBA European Champions Cup. The club competes in the Basketball Championship of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is part of the University Sport Society USD Bosna.
The FK Sarajevo Youth School, is the youth department for Bosnian football club FK Sarajevo and is considered to be the best in the country.
The Bosnia and Herzegovina men's national water polo team represents Bosnia and Herzegovina in international water polo competitions and friendly matches. It is governed by the Water Polo Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina since 2013.
