Vanadzor State University Futsal Club, shortly known as VSU Futsal, is an Armenian professional futsal club based in Vanadzor, representing the Vanadzor State University. [1]

Vanadzor, is an urban municipal community and the third-largest city in Armenia serving as the capital of Lori Province in the northern part of the country. It is located around 128 kilometres north of the capital Yerevan. As of the 2011 census, the city had a population of 86,199, down from 148,876 reported at the 1979 official census. History

Vanadzor State University Futsal Club was formed in 2015 by the Vanadzor University through the efforts of its current students, alumni and a group of professional futsal players from Lori Province. The team participates in the Armenian Futsal Premier League since the 2015-16 season, playing their home games at the Armenia Sports Arena of Vanadzor.

Other important towns include Stepanavan, Alaverdi, and Spitak. It is home to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Haghpat and Sanahin monasteries and the well-preserved Akhtala monastery, where Armenians, Georgians, and Greeks make an annual pilgrimage on September 20–21.

The Premier League is the premier futsal league in Armenia. It was founded in 1998. The Premier League, which is played under UEFA rules and organized by Football Federation of Armenia, currently consists of 5 teams.

Lori FC

Lori FC, is an Armenian football club from Vanadzor, Lori Province. Originally founded in 1936, Lori has participated in the domestic football competition of Soviet Armenia. After retiring from professional football in 2002, the club was revived in 2017 winning the 2017–18 Armenian First League competition.

The 1994 season was the third season of football in Armenia following the break-up of the Soviet Union. Professional football consisted of two divisions, the Armenian Premier League and the Armenian First League. Out of the sixteen Premier League teams, five would be relegated, while only the First League winner would be promoted for the 1995 season, reducing the top level to twelve clubs.
