V Ajith Kumar [1] [2] is an Indian kabaddi player from Tamilnadu, who plays for the Jaipur Pink Panthers in the Pro Kabaddi League as a raider. [3] He was picked up by Tamil Thalaivas in Pro Kabaddi League S7 for his debut season. In Pro Kabaddi League S8 he was picked up by U Mumba. In Pro Kabaddi League S9, he was picked up by the Jaipur Pink Panthers and won the 2022 Pro Kabaddi League. [4]

Early life

V Ajith Kumar [5] was born in Tamil Nadu, India. He completed his graduation there. He was dedicated to playing kabaddi from an early age, playing many national games like the 67th Senior National Games and 68th Senior National Games. Later he was picked up by Tamil Thalaivas in PKL Season-9 as a new young player. [6]

Career

V Ajith Kumar started playing kabaddi in early age, 2019 Pro Kabaddi League was his debut season. [7] Later he was bought by U Mumba, [8] and then in 2022 Pro Kabaddi League he was bought by Jaipur Pink Panthers. [9]

First game was played on July 26 between U Mumba and Jaipur Pink Panthers and the final was played on August 31 at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Indoor Stadium, Mumbai. Jaipur Pink Panthers beat U Mumba by 35–24 to win the inaugural Pro Kabaddi League.

The usual travelling caravan format was changed to a single venue hosting all the matches of the season due to spread of COVID-19 pandemic in India. Kanteerava Indoor Stadium, Bangalore was initially announced as the venue, but was later changed to the Sheraton Grand Hotel and Convention Center located in Whitefield, Bangalore.
