Ekstra Bladet is a Danish tabloid newspaper, published by JP/Politikens Hus in Copenhagen. It was founded in 1904 as an evening edition to Politiken. In 1905 the newspaper was established in its own right and has since focused on investigative journalism, news, sports and entertainment. It has been described as a sensationalistic newspaper. Since April 2022, Knud Brix has been editor-in-chief.

Peter Kenneth Bostrøm Lundin, who later renamed himself to Bjarne Skounborg and most recently Thomas Kristian Olesen, is a Danish serial killer who, on March 15, 2001, was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Østre Landsret for a triple murder. The night between June 16 and 17, 2000, he killed and then dismembered his cohabitant Marianne Pedersen and her two sons, Dennis (10) and Brian (12), in their house at Nørregårdsvej 26 in Rødovre.

Enner Mark Prison, until February 2016 the State Prison of East Jutland, is a modern and purpose-built closed prison in Denmark. It is the first since the establishment of the State Prison in Ringe in 1976. The prison replaced the 150-year-old and run-down Horsens State Prison and was opened on 2 October 2006 by the then Minister of Justice Lene Espersen. The prison is located at Enner Mark near the village of Lund, 10 kilometers west of Horsens, East Jutland.

The 2011 Præstø Fjord dragon boat accident occurred on February 11, 2011, north of Præstø, Denmark. The incident involved 13 students and two teachers from Lundby Efterskole - a local continuation high school. The boat capsized due to the wind. This incident killed one of the teachers and injured most of the students, leaving several of them in permanent care. The body of the teacher, who was not wearing a lifejacket, was found over seven weeks later on April 3.

Marcel Lychau Hansen, better known as the Amager Man, is a Danish serial rapist and twice-convicted murderer who was sentenced to life imprisonment for one robbery and one murder by a jury in the Copenhagen City Court on December 22, 2011. Hansen has also been convicted of six rapes, one of them being a quadruple rape, committed from February 16, 1987, to September 25, 2010.
Claus Barrit Bork Hansen, nicknamed "Karate Claus", was a Danish outlaw biker and gangster who served as the European sergeant-at-arms of the Bandidos Motorcycle Club, as well as the president of the club's Hedehusene-based Mideast chapter. He was later expelled from the Bandidos and was murdered by members of his former club following an internal feud.
Roland Tan Tong Meng, sometimes known by the nickname Mr. Big, was a Singaporean-born Denmark-based gangster and businessman. Initially attaining notoriety for his alleged involvement in a murder in October 1969, Tan fled to the Netherlands where he began his reign as a drug baron. He died of a heart attack in Copenhagen, after being at large for over 50 years.

Sanjay Sharma, also known as Juan Carlos Sánchez Pinto Clasen among other false identities, is an Indian serial killer currently serving a life sentence in Denmark for the double murder of his wife and her child in 1999, which he committed while on the run from Indian police, who were planning to charge him with the murder of his second wife in Austria two years prior.
The Bandidos Motorcycle Club is classified as a motorcycle gang by law enforcement and intelligence agencies in numerous countries. While the club has denied being a criminal organization, Bandidos members have been convicted of partaking in criminal enterprises including theft, extortion, prostitution, drug trafficking and murder in various host nations.
