Valen TV is a Norwegian TV show created by Kristian Valen which was shown on TVNorge in 2003. The show consists of seven episodes, each lasting for about 25 minutes. The show is mainly parodies of Norwegian and international TV-shows and music videos. Kristian Valen plays all parts in the show himself, whether parodies of famous people in real world or original characters like Helge, Geir and Kjartan

Original Characters

HELGE: A 28-year-old man from Stavanger representing Kristian Valen himself) who dreams about being a star, but instead ends up as a hello-man in Valen TV. He tends to fall asleep at work, always dreaming about himself playing vocalist in famous music videos, but wakes up when the producer, Ronny, yells at him: "Helge! Nå må du våkna; du e på loftå!" meaning "Helge! You have to awake now; you're on air!" In the first episode Ronny promotes Helge to Talkshow host in the program "Ikveld med Helge" (Tonight with Helge) which invites Norwegian celebrities. He always ends up offending his guests, and has to play their roles himself on stage.

GEIR: Geir is a 48–year–old karaoke waiter from Sandnes. He claims to have left TV after applying for Big Brother and Farmen three years in a row. He has difficulty making himself understood because of his heavy stammering. He is known by his big glasses and tight shirts. His catchphrase is "Eg ska toppa heile driden," which means "I'm gonna top the whole shit." Through the show he tries out several occupations, such as weatherman.

KJARTAN: Kjartan makes his first appearance in "Boksaunaen" with Per Inge Torkelsen and afterwards is the host of both Autofil and Dartguides as well as making appearances in the weather.

Kristian Valen is a comedian, actor, singer and songwriter originally from Stavanger, Norway. Known for comedic impressions, Valen has also pursued a serious music career; his pop music album Listen When Alone was released internationally in Europe and Asia. Valen was asked by Katherine Jackson to perform his song "Still Here" at the Jackson Family Foundation's Forever Michael: A Celebration of an Icon, the one year Michael Jackson memorial show held in 2010 at Beverly Hilton Hotel the home of the Golden Globes in Los Angeles.

Den store klassefesten is a Norwegian chat show which was shown on NRK1 in 2000, 2001, 2005 and again from 2008. The programme was part of NRK's Saturday night line-up and the presenter was Dan Børge Akerø. Working with him, Akerø had the comedians Øystein Bache and Rune Gokstad who did a lot of the presenting work in the series. The series is regarded as one of NRK's biggest successes of the 2000s and won the prize for best chat show at Gullruten 2002. Previously, Akerø had won the prize for best presenter for the programme at Gullruten 2001.

Per Inge Torkelsen Norwegian comedian, author and politician

Per Inge Torkelsen is a Norwegian comic, author, radio personality, and self declared clown. He is known for the Norwegian expression "Gi ungdommen en flaske brennevin før idretten tar dem". In 2007 he was elected into the city council in Stavanger for the Liberal Party of Norway. Between 2003 and 2007 he was the leader of the Eiganes og Våland borough council. He is listed as a clown in the telephone book.

Skal vi danse? is the Norwegian edition of the British television series, Strictly Come Dancing. It is produced by Monster Entertainment and broadcast on TV 2 Jon Peder Olrud and Geir Bie were producers in the first season. The second and third seasons were produced by Ingvild Daae. The series premiered on TV 2 on January 15, 2006. Skal vi danse? in Norwegian means "shall we dance?". Dancing celebrities with professional dancers and companies are reviewed by a panel of judges and the TV viewers. Each pair consists of a celebrity and a professional dancer and the one with the fewest votes does not participate in the next round.
