Valensia (released in Japan as Gaia) is a 1993 album by Dutch singer Valensia Clarkson. It is Valensia's debut album. The album features Robby Valentine on grand piano ("Nathalie", "T'Kylah", "My Heart Is In Your Hands", "Gaia") and Emmy Verhey on violin ("T'Kylah II", "Gaia").
"Gaia" was the first single from the album. In The Netherlands, where the album was recorded, the song is considered to be the most expensive Dutch single in history. [1]

Sharp, a drug addict at the time, sold the song to Teddy Powell for $50. Powell demanded half the songwriting credit. Sharp later successfully fought for the rights to his song. In 1987, he was also able to renew the copyright for his publishing company, B. Sharp Music.

Written by Seth Swirsky and Arnie Roman, and produced by Ric Wake, the song was released in 1988 as the album's second single, by Arista Records.
