Valentina Magaletti is a multi-genre drummer, percussionist, improviser and composer based in London.
Magaletti was born in Bari, Italy. She lives in London, UK. [1]
She has collaborated and performed with London experimental electronic project Raime (with whom they form the band Moin), Charles Hayward, Nicolas Jaar, Jandek, Helm, Malcolm Catto, Lafawndah, Bat for Lashes, and Gruff Rhys (Super Furry Animals). [2] Her influences include Ikue Mori, Georgia Hubley, Jaki Liebezeit, Milford Graves, Elvin Jones, Tony Buck, Charles Hayward, Billy Higgins, Han Bennink, and Art Blakey. [3]
Her principal project was as one half of the duo Tomaga with bassist/multi-instrumentalist Tom Relleen. [4] She is also a member of Moin and of the [5] experimental pop quintet Vanishing Twin and the supergroup UUUU, along with Graham Lewis (Wire) and Thighpaulsandra (Coil). [6] In 2017, she played drums as part of surviving Can member Irmin Schmidt's The Can Project, based around Schmidt's orchestral reimagining of classic Can songs and themes with an ensemble. [7] She and percussionist and sculptor Joăo Pais Filipe released their first album as CZN (Copper, Zinc and Nickel) The Golden Path in 2018, [8] and a collaborative release with Swiss percussionist and composer Julian Sartorius, Sulla Pelle, followed in 2019. Can were a German experimental rock band formed in Cologne in 1968 by Holger Czukay, Irmin Schmidt (keyboards), Michael Karoli (guitar), and Jaki Liebezeit (drums). Matmos is an experimental electronic music duo formed in San Francisco and currently based in Baltimore. M. C. (Martin) Schmidt and Drew Daniel are the core members, but they frequently include other artists on their records and in their performances, including notably J Lesser. Apart from releasing twelve full-length studio albums and numerous collaborative works, Matmos is also well known for their collaboration with Icelandic singer and musician Björk, both on studio recordings and live tours. After being signed to Matador Records for nine years, Matmos signed with Thrill Jockey in 2012. The name Matmos refers to the seething lake of evil slime beneath the city Sogo in the 1968 film Barbarella.

Valentina is a supervillain appearing in Philippine comic books, created by Mars Ravelo and Nestor Redondo. Based upon the eponymous Greek mythological figure, she first appeared in Pilipino Komiks and was the first adversary of the superhero Darna. Referred to as the "Goddess of Snakes", she has command over all kinds of serpents and has venomous snakes in her head instead of hair. She has been featured significantly as Darna's archenemy in many adaptations of her stories in other media.

Thomas Alexander Bailey is an English singer, songwriter, musician, composer and record producer. Bailey came to prominence in the early 1980s as the lead vocalist for the new wave band Thompson Twins, which released five singles that entered the top ten charts in the United Kingdom during the 1980s: "Love On Your Side", "We Are Detective", "Hold Me Now", "Doctor! Doctor!", and "You Take Me Up". He was the only member of the band to have formal musical training. From 1994, Bailey was also a member of its later incarnation, Babble, releasing two commercially unsuccessful studio albums. He released his debut solo studio album Science Fiction in 2018.
April Captains is a 2000 film telling the story of the Carnation Revolution, the military coup that overthrew the corporatist dictatorship in Portugal on 25 April 1974. Although dramatised, the plot is closely based on the events of the revolution and many of the key characters are real - such as Captain Salgueiro Maia and Prime Minister Marcelo Caetano.

Diamantino is a 2018 fantasy comedy-drama film written and directed by Gabriel Abrantes and Daniel Schmidt. The film was produced by Justin Taurand, Maria João Mayer, and Daniel van Hoogstraten. It stars Carloto Cotta, Cleo Tavares, Anabela Moreira, and Margarida Moreira. The film follows Premiere association football star Diamantino after he loses his special touch and ends his career in disgrace. Searching for a new purpose, the international icon sets on a delirious odyssey where he confronts neo-fascism, the refugee crisis, genetic modification and the hunt for the source of genius. It was screened in the Critics' Week section at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival, where it won the Grand Prize.
Vanishing Twin are an English, London-based experimental trio, founded in 2015. The group is led by singer and guitarist Cathy Lucas, formerly a member of Fanfarlo, and have released four albums: Choose Your Own Adventure (2016), The Age of Immunology (2019), Ookii Gekkou (2021), and "Afternoon X" (2023). The band's name refers to the fetal absorption of Lucas's twin during pregnancy.

Their debut studio album, 2012's Quarter Turns over a Living Line, was met with widespread critical acclaim and landed on multiple lists of best albums of the year. Since then Raime released multiple EPs and singles. In 2021 they were joined by their long-time collaborator, drummer Valentina Magaletti to form a group Moin. As a trio, they released two studio albums: Moot! in 2021 and Paste in 2022.
