Valeriya Tsoy (born 8 July 1988 in Oskemen) is an Olympic snowboarder, author and public speaker. [1] In 2014, she became the first snowboarder to represent Kazakhstan in the Winter Olympics.
Tsoy competed at the 2014 Winter Olympics for Kazakhstan. She was 23rd in the qualifying run of the parallel giant slalom and 32nd in the qualifying of the parallel slalom, [2] [3]
Tsoy made her World Cup debut in March 2011. Her best finish is 4th, in a parallel giant slalom at Sochi in 2012–13. Her best overall finish is 12th, in 2013–14. [1]
Valeriya was published in numerous magazines, including Men's Health and Harper's Bazaar.
She modelled for multiple advertising campaigns for sport brands and is often participating in public speaking engagements.
She is currently residing in Vancouver, BC with her daughter.
Jasey-Jay Anderson is a Canadian snowboarder and Olympic gold medallist, who competed in the 1998, 2002, 2006, 2010, 2014, 2018, Winter Olympics. Anderson currently resides in Mont-Tremblant outside of Montreal.
Ester Ledecká is a Czech snowboarder and alpine skier. At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, Ledecká won gold medals in the super-G in alpine skiing and in the parallel giant slalom in snowboarding, becoming the first person to not only compete in the Winter Olympics using two different types of equipment but to go further and win two gold medals and do so at the same Winter Olympics. She was the second woman to win an Olympic gold in two separate disciplines but the first to do so at the same Winter Olympics. She was the first Czech to win the parallel giant slalom in snowboarding at the FIS Snowboard World Cup.
Gloria Kotnik is a Slovenian snowboarder. She competed at the 2010 Winter Olympics, where she finished 27th in parallel giant slalom. At the 2014 Winter Olympics, she finished 24th in parallel giant slalom. At the 2022 Winter Olympics, she won a bronze medal in the women's parallel giant slalom event. This was also her first podium in career as her best results in World Cup competition prior to the 2022 Olympics were three fourth places.
Ina Meschik is an Austrian alpine snowboarder. She represented her nation Austria in two editions of the Olympic Games, and eventually claimed a bronze medal in parallel giant slalom at the 2010 FIS Junior World Championships in Lake Wānaka, New Zealand and fourth-place finishes at the FIS World Cup series.
