Valkyrien Allstars (established 2003 in Oslo, Norway) is a Norwegian Hardingfele trio whose music is based on Norwegian traditional folk music. They present many different genres and styles with a distinctive sound. [1] [2]
In 2006 Valkyrien Allstars was awarded Grappa's Debutant prize and received a recording contract under the direction of Grappa Music Publishing. Their debut album, Valkyrien Allstars, was released 1 October 2007 on the label Heilo. The band was nominated for Spellemannprisen 2007 in the open class Newcomer of the Year, and the album gained platinum album status in 2008. [3] On 31 August 2009 they released their second album, To Måner, and the third, Ingen Hverdag, in 2011, all under the Heilo label. [1]

Kirsten Marie Bråten Berg is a Norwegian traditional folk singer, silversmith and government scholar. She is currently living in Valle in the Setesdal area of southern Norway. She trained as a silversmith at the Torleiv H. Bjørgums Vocational College in Setesdal and then set up her own workshop there, in Nomeland.
Unni Løvlid is a Norwegian musician. She was raised in Hornindal, Sogn og Fjordane, where she was taught to play piano, fiddle, and Hardanger fiddle. Her interest in folk music was initiated by her mother, Oline Ragnhild Løvlid who taught her about the traditional music of Nordfjord.

Grappa is the Norwegian Music Publishing company with the most nominations for the Norwegian Grammy, Spellemannprisen. The company's DVD releases have also set Norwegian sales records. Grappa is part of FONO.
