Valkyrja is a black metal band from Stockholm, Sweden formed in 2004. [1]

History

The band released their first demo in the same year under the name Funeral Voices. The demo was re-released on cassette September 11, including additional material, on underground label Deathkrush Productions – re-titled Far Beyond. Their debut album was recorded at Necromorbus Studio in March / April of '07 and released in autumn of the same year by German label Northern Silence Productions as CD in jewelcase, special edition CD in metal case and 12" LP on black / marble wax. They recorded their second album in June/July 2009 at Necromorbus Studio in Stockholm, Sweden. The album, 'Contamination', was released on January 15, 2010 through Metal Blade Records. [2]

They recorded their third album, 'The Antagonist's Fire', in June/July 2013 again at Necromorbus Studio in Stockholm, and again produced by Tore Stjerna, and the album was released on 11 November 2013 through World Terror Committee. [3] Neil Pretorious of About.com reviewed the album, awarding it 4/5, writing that "this really is an ace album on all fronts. That patented Swedish vibe is all over the place, the delivery is tight and energetic and the production is surprisingly crisp." [4] Marcos Garcia of Metal Temple also praised the album, giving it 9/10, writing that "they really show a musical style that deserves our attention." [5]

<i>The Avenger</i> (album) 1999 studio album by Amon Amarth

The Avenger is the second full-length studio album by Swedish death metal band Amon Amarth, released by Metal Blade Records and Sony Music on 2 September 1999. It was the first Amon Amarth album with guitarist Johan Söderberg and drummer Fredrik Andersson, Thus completing the line-up that remained up until 2015, following Andersson's departure from the band. It was also released as a digipak version, containing a bonus track "Thor Arise", a re-recording of the title track from their first demo, Thor Arise. The album was also released as an LP version. Later, Metal Blade Records re-released the album in 2005 on Picture LP, limited to 500 hand-counted copies. Kaamos was a Swedish death metal band that was formed in 1998 and disbanded in 2006. The band's name comes from the Finnish word for polar night.

Watain is a Swedish black metal band, formed in 1998. The band's name is taken from an early recording by the American black metal group Von. The band have become famous for their Theistic Satanist views and for their live shows which involve pyrotechnics, candles, Satanic rituals, animal carcasses, and blood. At a now-notorious live performance in Brooklyn in 2014, they doused audience members in animal blood, allegedly causing some members of the audience to vomit. This was picked up and publicised by TMZ, generating controversy around the incident. To date they have released seven full-length albums, as well as three live albums and a number of demos and EPs. Their most recent album The Agony & Ecstasy of Watain was released on 29 April 2022 through Nuclear Blast. Funeral Mist is a Swedish black metal band formed in Stockholm in 1993. To date, the band have released four full-length albums, three EPs and a compilation boxset. Since 2003, the band's sole permanent member has been Arioch, also known for his work as the frontman of the black metal band Marduk.
