Valles del Tuy^[1] is the name given to a region of Venezuela, covering several municipalities in the north central Miranda State ^[2] of Venezuela. It was called Tuy, because it is in an area around the Tuy River, one of the most important of that state, a valley between the Cordillera de la Costa (north) and the Serrania del Interior (south). The area is also considered one of the five subregions of Miranda state, though without any official organization or administrative group. It holds the Valles del Tuy Metropolitan Area.

Venezuela, officially the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, is a country on the northern coast of South America, consisting of a continental landmass and many small islands and islets in the Caribbean Sea. It has a territorial extension of 916,445 km². The continental territory is bordered on the north by the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, on the west by Colombia, Brazil on the south, Trinidad and Tobago to the north-east and on the east by Guyana. The Venezuelan government maintains a claim against Guyana to Guayana Esequiba, an area of 159,542 km². For its maritime areas, Venezuela exercises sovereignty over 71,295 km² of territorial waters, 22,224 km² in its contiguous zone, 471,507 km² of the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean under the concept of exclusive economic zone, and 99,889 km² of continental shelf. This marine area borders those of 13 states. The capital and largest urban agglomeration is the city of Caracas. The country has extremely high biodiversity and is ranked seventh in the world's list of nations with the most number of species. There are habitats ranging from the Andes Mountains in the west to the Amazon basin rain-forest in the south via extensive llanos plains, the Caribbean coast and the Orinoco River Delta in the east.

Tuy River is a river of northern Venezuela, in the Valles del Tuy region of Miranda State. The principal river of Miranda, it flows north from Aragua State through Miranda into the Caribbean Sea. Tributaries include the Guaire River, the principal river of Caracas, and the Caucagua River.

El Valle del Espíritu Santo is a village near Porlamar, in the Nueva Esparta state of Venezuela. Founded as the capital of the island in 1529, El Valle del Espíritu Santo is just north of Porlamar. It is the birth town of Santiago Mariño and his sister, Concepción Mariño, as well as where the patron of the island, the Virgin of El Valle appeared. In the village there is a has a pink-and-white church honoring the Virgen del Valle. Visitors go to the village all year-round, but especially on her feast day in early September.
