Van Buren High School is a public high school in Van Buren, Ohio, the only high school in the Van Buren Local Schools district. They are a member of the Blanchard Valley Conference.
The first schoolhouse in Allen Township was a small log structure built in 1836. It was built of round logs covered with a clapboard roof, had greased paper windows and a huge fireplace at one end. About 1870 a two-room brick building was built on East Market Street. This building was later condemned and a four-room school was erected and used till 1917 when the schools of Allen Township were centralized and the present school, Van Buren High School, was erected. In the fall of 2017 Van Buren Schools had a centennial celebration of the 1917 addition still in use today.

The Black Knight Football team won the Valley Division of the BVC in 2014 & 2015 and advanced to the state playoffs each of the last 2 seasons with 3 playoff wins to their credit.
The Black Knights are well known for their success on the golf course, in which they have won or shared a BVC title since 2007. The Black Knights have also advanced to the state tournament in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 receiving State Runner Up in 2016.
The Boys Soccer team won the North Central Ohio Soccer Association League Title in 2015, 2016, and 2017.
Van Buren High School is known in Ohio for its music department, mainly in vocals. The concert choir has received multiple Superior ratings at state contest. Along with the choir, Van Buren is home of the decorated show choir group "The Association," which competed in class C. Although The Association is no longer a competitive ensemble, they still remain quite active in the community and now perform multiple shows each year including: Fall Show, Christmas Show, and their annual Spring Cabaret. In the fall of 2018, an a cappella group known as Knightlife Acappella (KLA) was created by their choir director, Will Baughman. The ensemble is composed of The Association's 17 most elite musicians.
The Van Buren Black Knight Marching Band on November 6, 2009, traveled to Dublin, OH to compete in State Marching Band Finals for the first time in Van Buren history. They received a "II" (Excellent) rating and missed a "I" (Superior) rating by one point. The BKMB has since competed at State Finals five times: 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019.
St. Thomas Aquinas High School (STA) is a private, Catholic co-educational high school located in Louisville, Ohio, United States, run by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Youngstown. It was founded in 1964 to serve the Catholic families of eastern Stark County and parts of Portage County. When it opened, Aquinas enrolled both male and female students, but was a single-sex educational institution, as boys and girls attended classes within separate wings of the school. STA began practicing its current co-educational format in 1970.
Theodore Roosevelt High School, often referred to as Kent Roosevelt (KRHS), is a public high school in Kent, Ohio, United States. It is the only high school in Kent and the Kent City School District and serves students in grades 9–12 living in Kent, Franklin Township, Brady Lake, and Sugar Bush Knolls as well as a small portion of southern Streetsboro. As of the 2021–22 academic year, enrollment was 1,267 students with 73 teachers for a student–teacher ratio of 17:1. North Royalton High School is a public high school located in North Royalton, Ohio, United States, a suburban community in Greater Cleveland. Over 1,000 students attend the school. Jerome opened for its first year during the 2004–2005 school year. Athletic teams are known as the Panthers with school colors of red and white. They are one of the 8 schools who compete in the Metro Athletic Conference. The 141,000 square feet (13,100 m2) building opened in January 2017, replacing the previous home of Norton High School, built in 1953. The former high school building was re-purposed as Norton Middle School. The campus includes athletic fields and a multi-purpose stadium, which opened in September 2015. The stadium has an artificial surface for football and soccer and an eight-lane all-weather track.

The current high school building was opened in 2000, and the former high school became the current middle school. The new elementary school was built in 2007. The school offers college prep courses, advanced placement courses, a vocational agriculture program, numerous elective courses. Pandora-Gilboa High School is a state technology prototype public high school centered in Pandora, Ohio. It is the only high school and school in the Pandora-Gilboa Local School district. The district serves students from Pandora, Gilboa, and parts of Riley, Blanchard, and Pleasant townships in Putnam County. The school district origins begin with Pandora High School,which was the first rural consolidated school district in the state combining Pandora Village Schools and Riley Township Schools and the historic school of Crawfis College. In 2015, Pandora-Gilboa was recognized on the list of the top 50 schools in the country at preparing students of any income level for higher education from anywhere to a technical school to the best of the Ivy Leagues such as Harvard University.

The Southern Ohio Conference (S.O.C.) is an athletic conference in Ohio. The conference is also a member of the Ohio High School Athletic Association, the governing body of Ohio athletics. There are currently seventeen member schools in the conference. The S.O.C. includes teams from five different Ohio counties - Jackson County, Gallia County Lawrence County, Pike County, and Scioto County. The conference recognizes: baseball, boys' and girls' basketball, boys' and girls' cross country, football, boys' and girls' soccer, fast pitch softball, boys' and girls' swimming, boys' and girls' tennis, boys' and girls' track and field athletics, and girls' volleyball.
