Vanda Wesenhagen (born 1957) is a former Dutch international cricketer who represented the Dutch national team between 1981 and 1990, including at the 1988 World Cup. She played as a middle-order batsman and occasional medium-pace bowler.
Wesenhagen made her international debut for the Netherlands at the 1981 Engeland tour, and 1983 Centenary Tournament in Utrecht, playing against Denmark. [1] She opened the bowling with Chantal Grevers, and came in fourth in the batting order. [2] In a three-day match against Ireland in 1987 (an unofficial Test), Wesenhagen was the leading run-scorer in her team's first innings, making 12 out of a team total of 55. She was promoted to open the batting in the second innings, but made only eight runs as the Netherlands lost by an innings and 19 runs. [3] Selected in the Dutch squad for the 1988 World Cup in Australia, Wesenhagen played in six of her team's eight matches – her first One Day International (ODI) appearances. [4] She made 66 runs, the second-most for her team behind Anita van Lier's 159, [5] and her highest score was 41 not out on debut against Ireland. [6] After the World Cup, Wesenhagen made appearances at two further ODI tournaments – the 1989 and 1990 European Cups. [4]
The 1988 Shell Bicentennial Women's World Cup was an international cricket tournament played in Australia from 29 November to 18 December 1988. Hosted by Australia for the first time, as part of the Bicentenary celebrations, it was the fourth edition of the Women's Cricket World Cup, and came six years after the preceding 1982 World Cup in New Zealand.
Cri-Zelda Brits, also written Crizelda Brits and Cri-zelda Brits is a South African cricketer. A right-handed batsman and right-arm medium-fast bowler, Brits was originally called up to the South Africa national women's cricket team as an opening bowler in 2002. She developed into an all-rounder, and since 2005 has established herself as a specialist batsman. She captained South Africa in 23 matches in 2007 and 2008, but was replaced as captain in 2009 in order to "concentrate entirely on her own performance." She was reappointed as captain for the 2010 ICC Women's World Twenty20. Between 2007 and 2011 she captain South Africa a total of 36 times.
Nicola Payne is a Canadian-born former cricketer who played international cricket for both the Netherlands and New Zealand. She played primarily as a right-handed batter. She appeared in 37 One Day Internationals (ODIs) for the Netherlands and in 28 ODIs for New Zealand, and appeared at four World Cups. She played domestic cricket for Canterbury and Queensland.
Helmien Willie Rambaldo is a Dutch former cricketer who played as a right-handed batter and occasional right-arm off break bowler. She appeared in one Test match, 46 One Day Internationals and 10 Twenty20 Internationals for the Netherlands between 1998 and 2011, and captained the team between 2007 and 2011, including in the side's inaugural Test and WT20I. She played domestic cricket for Boland in South Africa between 2003–04 and 2006–07.
Ariette "Jet" van Noortwijk is a former Dutch cricketer whose international career for the Dutch national side spanned from 1989 to 1997. She finished her career with 27 One Day International (ODI) matches, including games at both the 1993 and 1997 World Cups.
Babette van Teunenbroek is a Dutch former cricketer who played as a right-handed batter. She appeared in nine One Day Internationals for the Netherlands between 1984 and 1989, and one One Day Internationals for International XI at the 1982 World Cup.
