The Times of India, also known by its abbreviation TOI, is an Indian English-language daily newspaper and digital news media owned and managed by The Times Group. In 2001, the President of India conferred on her the Padma Shri. A prominent news channel has described her as: “The ultimate hope and the last possible post to cling onto for the cancer-struck in India”. Over a thirty-year period, Dinshaw revolutionised cancer medicine in India, refining multi-modal treatments as the exception rather than the rule.
Serajuddin Hossain was a prominent Bangladeshi journalist. He was the news and executive editor of The Daily Ittefaq. He was captured from his residence by the Pakistan army with the help of Al-Badr and Razakar. He was not only a prominent journalist, but was also considered to be a good writer and translator. He was very close to Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. He was the first to introduce investigative reporting into Bangla newspaper. During the 1971 liberation war, the country was occupied by the Pakistani army. During this time, Serajuddin Hossain wrote in the newspaper on behalf of the liberation war, and secretly helped the freedom fighters.
Azad Maidan Riot refers to a riot by Indian muslims, organised in Azad Maidan on 11 August 2012 to condemn the Rakhine riots and which started as a protest and later turned into a riot. The riot reportedly began as the crowd got angry either after hearing an inflammatory speech or after seeing photographs of Rakhine state riots. The riot resulted in two deaths and injuries to 63 people including 58 police officers. Mumbai Police estimated that the riots caused a loss of ₹2.74 crore in damages to public and private property.

Kshama Metre, popularly known as Doctor Didi, is an Indian rural development leader, and a pediatrician, who has led the Chinmaya Organization for Rural Development (CORD) since the founding of its predecessor organization in 1985, and she leads the organization as its National Director. The organization serves the rural areas of India with its unique approach for sustainable and comprehensive community driven integrated development program, under the aegis of the Chinmaya Mission. While holding the directorship of CORD India, she also serves as an adviser to CORD USA, the US wing of the Organization. A recipient of several awards including the Guardian International Development Achievement Award of 2012, she was selected as the Woman of the Year by The Week magazine, in 1993. The Government of India awarded her the fourth highest civilian honor of the Padma Shri, in 2008, for her contributions to society.
Durga Jain is an Indian social worker known for her works related to betterment of children with Down syndrome. She was married into the Sahu Jain family and when her daughter was born, the daughter was detected with Down syndrome. She started a center for similar children; called Tinker Bell School at Pedder Road, Mumbai in 1968 which later on moved within the premises of Sophia College in 1970. The institute received funds from her father-in-law Shreyans Prasad Jain. It later developed into a full-time institute as SPJ Sadhana School. In 2014, she was awarded with Padma Shri, India's fourth highest civilian honour.
Ravi Kannan R is an Indian Surgical oncologist based in Assam, India. He is the Director of Cachar Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (CCHRC), a nonprofit hospital that treats cancer patients, and the former Head of Department of surgical oncology at Adyar Cancer Institute in Chennai. He is the recipient of Padma Shri, India's fourth highest civilian honour.
