Varberg Hospital (Swedish: VarbergsSjukhus) is a hospital in Varberg, Sweden. [1] [2] The hospital was completed in 1972 as a replacement of the old hospital in the city. After that, the old hospital was demolished. Varberg Hospital has 450 beds for general medical care and 350 beds for psychiatric treatment.

The Bocksten Man is the remains of a medieval man's body found in a bog in Varberg Municipality, Sweden. It is one of the best-preserved finds in Europe from that era and is exhibited at the Varberg County Museum. The man had been killed and impaled to the bottom of a lake which later became a bog. The bog where the body was found lies in Rolfstorp about 24 kilometres (15 mi) east of Varberg on the west coast of Sweden, close to the most important medieval road in the area: the Via Regia. In 2006, he was reconstructed to show what he may have looked like when he was alive, and it was displayed in the Halland Museum of Cultural History, alongside the original skeleton.
Beckomberga Hospital was a Swedish psychiatric hospital, situated in Bromma west of Stockholm. Opened in 1932, Beckomberga was one of the largest psychiatric hospitals in Europe, at its peak housing some 2,000 mentally ill patients. The hospital closed in 1995.

The Bexell Cottage is a small cottage in Varberg, Sweden. It has been turned into a historical heritage mini-museum. In Bexell Cottage there are furnitures and painted wall tapestry from the 19th century. The tapestry cover the walls and ceiling of the cottage. Originally, they were only used for Christmas, but today they are posted all the year around. Bexell Cottage can be visited by the public at the shows of the cottage that are arranged by Halland Museum of Cultural History.

Umedalen hospital was a psychiatric hospital located in the residential area Umedalen in Umeå, Sweden. Established in 1934, the hospital remained in service for 52 years, until 1986 when it was closed down. Nowadays the buildings of the former hospital have multiple functions, for example harbouring several schools, kindergartens and a health centre.
Carolina Mathilda Ranch was a Swedish female photographer who ran a studio in Varberg in south-western Sweden. A pioneer amongst female photgraphers, she produced thousands of photographs, many of which are preserved in the archives of the Halland Museum of Cultural History.
Norrtulls sjukhus in Vasastan, Stockholm, Sweden was erected 1883–85 as a model orphanage, converted in the 1920s to a children's hospital that in 1951 was relocated to the Caroline Institute and later renamed to Astrid Lindgren Children’s Hospital. Norrtulls sjukhus was then converted into a geriatric hospital, and in the 1990s to a psychiatric clinic. As the buildings in 2004 were deemed inappropriate, they have been sold on the open market.
