Varuna Shetty is an Indian actress who has done Malayalam- and Tamil-language films. She has been launched by Ranjith Bajpe in his first directional venture Tulu movie, Nirel. [1] Later she worked under Oru Thalai Ragam Shankar in his UAE based thriller Manal Naharam , [2] a bi-lingual. Later she signed Rasam , [3] a Mohanlal film again shot in UAE. Both the movies have been released.

Personal life

Varuna Shetty born in Dubai, and studied at "Our Own Indian High School", Dubai and completed MBA from Manipal University Dubai. [1] She got selected for "Nirel" to play lead role at an audition in Dubai. [1]

Tulu cinema, also known as Coastalwood, is a part of Indian cinema. The Tulu film industry produces five to seven films annually. The first Tulu film was Enna Thangadi released in 1971. Nirel (transl. Shadow) is a Tulu-language film directed by Ranjith Bajpe and produced jointly by Shodhan Prasad and San Poojary, starring Anoop Sagar, Varuna Shetty, Deepthi, Sachin Padil, Deepak Paladka. This will be the first film produced overseas and planned to shoot completely in Gulf Region. The film is based on the Kannada Script "Nadu Naduve" by Karthik Gowda and later converted to Tulu by Ranjith Bajpe. Karthik Gowda also wrote the screenplay for the movie, and dialogues written by Ranjith Bajpe. Cast for the movie was totally selected by an audition at Fortune Grand Hotel Dubai. The people behind "Nirel" is a group of four friends, San Poojary, Ranjith Bajpe, Rajneesh Amin and Sachin Padil.

Marakkar: Lion of the Arabian Sea is a 2021 Indian epic historical action film directed by Priyadarshan. Set in the 16th century Calicut, the film is based on the fourth Kunjali Marakkar named Muhammad Ali, the admiral of the fleet of the Zamorin. Priyadarshan scripted the film with Ani Sasi. Big Brother is a 2020 Indian Malayalam-language action thriller film written, directed, and co-produced by Siddique. It was jointly produced by S Talkies, Shaman International, and Vaishaka Cinema, in association with Carnival Movie Network. The film stars Mohanlal in the title role, along with Arbaaz Khan, Vishnu Unnikrishnan, Sarjano Khalid, Anoop Menon, Honey Rose, Mirnaa Menon, Chetan Hansraj, Gaadha, Siddique, and Tini Tom in supporting cast. Big Brother marks Arbaaz Khan's debut appearance in Malayalam cinema. The songs and background score for the film was composed by Deepak Dev.
