Veppur Taluk is a newly formed taluk in Cuddalore district which is fiburcated from Vriddhachalam and Tittagudi taluks and is located in the western tip of the district. Since National highway NH45 passes through the town, people can go to anywhere at any time. Frequent bus facilities or available to Chennai, Trichy, Cuddalore, Salem, Virudhachalam. Nearest Railway Junction is Vriddhachalam railway junction which is about 20kms from the town Mangalur Block and Nallur Block headquarters at veppur Taluk

Veppur has one of its famous Mariamman Temple located in South Street(Old Colony). Where there is festival everyear in the Tamil month of Chithirai (April). The festival is conducted for 10 days making it one of the longest festival in the neighborhood. People especially Women come here and pray with different problems and they believe that it gets solved. This Mariamman is considered one of the most powerful. Every year goats & hens are sacrificed by different classes of people after all their problems are solved.
