Keith Fitzgerald is a former Democratic member of the Florida House of Representatives, representing the 69th District for two terms from 2007 to 2010.

The LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course, in Terre Haute, Indiana was dedicated October 17, 1997. This course has the distinction of being one of the few purpose-built cross-country courses in the world. The facility is part of 240 acres (0.97 km2) that comprise the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center just east of the Terre Haute International Airport. The course itself is built on a reclaimed coal mine and consists of an external loop of 3 km and four internal loops that allow for circuits of varying lengths. Indiana State University's Cross-Country team uses the Gibson Course for its home meets.

The Tincher was a brand of automobile produced from 1903–1908 in Chicago, Illinois, and from 1908 to 1909 in South Bend, Indiana. The car was named after its developer, Thomas Luther Tincher, but built by the Chicago Coach and Carriage Company using components and body sections fabricated by the German Krupp steelworks.

United States womens national softball team

The United States women's national softball team is the national softball team of the United States. It is governed by USA Softball and takes part in international softball competitions. The US team has been dominant in international play, taking the gold medal in three straight Olympics and seven straight world championships. They won the silver medal at the 2008 and 2020 Summer Olympics. In the 2004 Olympics the team held its opponents to one run scored in 7 games. The lone run came in a 5–1 victory over the Australian team. It was the first run scored by an opponent against the US softball team in 9 games.

Virginia Tech Hokies softball

The Virginia Tech Hokies softball team is a college softball program that competes in NCAA Division I and the Coastal Division of Atlantic Coast Conference. Their home games are played at Tech Softball Park. The team appeared in the NCAA Tournament in four successive seasons (2005–2008), were conference champions in 2007 and 2008, and advanced to the Women's College World Series in 2008. A big part of this success was the pitching of Angela Tincher, who had a historic career at Virginia Tech, becoming only the third person in NCAA Softball to record 2,000 career strikeouts. The Hokies also did what no other college has ever done, beating the U.S. Olympic Softball Team in a victory that ended Team USA's 12-year, 185-game winning streak. The Hokies won this game by a score of 1–0 and Tincher pitched a no hitter, and also allowing no balls to reach the outfield.
