Victor Aviat (born 1982) [1] is a French oboist [2] and conductor [3] of classical music and opera.
Born in Montpellier, [3] [4] Aviat studied oboe, piano and conducting in Paris, Zürich (Zurich University of the Arts) [5] and Geneva. [6] He is an orchestra musician, works regularly as principal oboe with the Zürich Opera House, the Lucerne Festival Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, the Budapest Festival Orchestra, the Orchestra Mozart among others. [6] After further study, Aviat began a career as a conductor parallel to his activities and has led performances with the Orchestre national de Lille, the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and others. [6]
In the season 2015/16, Aviat conducted a new production of Offenbach's operetta Le roi Carotte at the Opéra de Lyon which was broadcast on radio and television and was widely praised. [7] [8] [9] This production of Le roi Carotte under the musical direction of Aviat won "Best Rediscovered Work" in the International Opera Awards 2016. [10] From 2016 to 2018 Aviat was the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra Leverhulme Young Conductor in Association of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. [11] More recently Aviat showed interests in composition. His first orchestral piece has been performed by Orchestre National de France in December 2019. [12]

Eugene Izotov is a Russian-born oboist and recording artist. He is currently the Principal Oboist of the San Francisco Symphony appointed by Michael Tilson Thomas in 2014. He is the first Russian-born oboist in any major U.S. symphony orchestra. He has previously served as the Principal Oboist of the Chicago Symphony, Principal Oboist of the Metropolitan Opera, Principal Oboist of the Kansas City Symphony, and has appeared as guest Principal Oboe with the Boston Symphony, Los Angeles Philharmonic, and New York Philharmonic. He studied with American oboist Ralph Gomberg at Boston University, from which he received the Distinguished Alumnus Award. In addition to being recognized as one of the world's premiere orchestral oboists, Izotov has been awarded top prizes at international competitions for solo oboists in Moscow (1990), Saint Petersburg (1991), New York (1995) and the First Prize at the 2001 Fernand Gillet International Oboe competition. Eugene Izotov's solo and chamber music collaborations include partnerships with Bernard Haitink, Riccardo Muti, James Levine, Nicholas McGegan, Michael Tilson Thomas, Yo Yo Ma, Pinchas Zukerman, Itzhak Perlman, Jaime Laredo, André Watts, Emanuel Ax, Yefim Bronfman, and the Tokyo String Quartet. He has appeared over 50 times as soloist with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony, MET Chamber Ensemble, Pacific Music Festival Orchestra, and has performed principal oboe on numerous Grammy winning recordings on BMG, Sony Classical, SFS Media, and CSOResound.
Michael Stern is an American symphony conductor. Currently, he serves as the music director and lead conductor of the Kansas City Symphony in Kansas City, Missouri. In 2019, he was also named the fourth music director of the Stamford Symphony in Stamford, Connecticut. He is also the founding music director of the IRIS Orchestra in Germantown, Tennessee. In 2021, Stern was appointed as Music Director of the National Repertory Orchestra in Breckenridge, CO. He is only the third Music Director in the organization's history.
