The Victoria Clock Tower is a clock tower in Jacobabad, Sindh. [1]
It was built to commemorate Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria on February 16, 1887. [2] [3] Designed by Colonel S. S. Jacob, a relative of General John Jacob and the executive engineer of the Jeypore state, the tower was funded through contributions from local landlords, the Hindu Panchayat, and the District Local Fund Board, as indicated by a plaque on the site. [2] [3]
The tower was officially opened on November 21, 1888, by Miss Pritchard, the daughter of the then Commissioner of Sindh. [2] [4]
It features a main tower, surrounded by smaller minarets, with evident structural damage and cracks. [2] The interior features, including floral motifs, Christian crosses, and Mughal-inspired latticed screens, are notable, although the tower's clock is no longer functional. [2]

Brigadier-General John Jacob CB was an officer of the British East India Company who served in colonial India for the major portion of his career. Merewether Clock Tower or Merewether Tower is a neo-Gothic clocktower built during the Victorian era in Karachi, Pakistan. Khan Sahib Shahal Khan Khoso (1909–1956) came from a family which had, since the many last centuries, been prominent among the landed aristocracy of the Sindh. He was a Member of the West Pakistan Legislative Assembly from 1953 to 1956, belonging to Khoso Baloch family of Thul district Jacobabad Sindh. His grandfather Dilmurad Khan khoso revolted against British in 1857 and was sent to Andaman Island.
The 26th Jacob's Mountain Battery was an artillery unit of the British Indian Army. The battery can trace its origins back to Golandauze Battalion (1826). In 1843 it became the 10th Company Golandauze Battalion of Bombay Foot Artillery, and became the 26th Jacob's Mountain Battery in 1903.
