Victoria Steele is a former Democratic member of the Arizona State Senate representing District 9 from 2019 to 2023. She is a twice elected former Democratic member of the Arizona House of Representatives,serving District 9 in Tucson from 2013 to 2016. She is a board member of the National Organization for Women (NOW). In 2019,she began the podcast Wait,What? Politics with Zuma and Steele,co-hosting with journalist Jimmy Zuma. She was elected as a Justice of the Peace in 2022.
Prior to entering politics,she had a career in radio and television news. She also created the Native Ways program at The Haven,a substance-use residential treatment program for Indigenous women. As a politician,she was on the board of the National Caucus of the Native American State Legislators.
In July 2015,she announced that she would run in the 2nd congressional district of Arizona for the 2016 United States House of Representatives,hoping to challenge incumbent Martha McSally. [1] She resigned from the Arizona legislature in January 2016 to focus on her congressional race. [2] Steele was endorsed in the Democratic primary by U.S. Representative Raúl Grijalva. [3] [4]
She is the State Legislative Coordinator for NOW and co-founder of the Tucson NOW Chapter.

Since Arizona became a U.S. state in 1912,it has sent congressional delegations to the United States Senate and United States House of Representatives,beginning with the 63rd United States Congress in 1913. Before becoming a state,the Arizona Territory elected a non-voting delegate at-large to Congress from 1864 to 1912. Each state elects two senators to serve for six years,and varying numbers of members of the House,depending on state population,to two-year terms. Arizona has sent nine members to the House in each delegation since the 2010 United States Census.
Raúl Manuel Grijalva is an American politician and activist who has served as the United States representative for Arizona's 7th congressional district since 2023 and Arizona's 3rd congressional district from 2003 to 2023. He is a member of the Democratic Party. The district was numbered as the 7th from 2003 to 2013 and includes the western third of Tucson,part of Yuma and Nogales,and some peripheral parts of metro Phoenix. Grijalva is the dean of Arizona's congressional delegation.

Kirkpatrick was a member of the Arizona House of Representatives from 2005 to 2007.
Matthew G. Heinz is an American doctor and politician. A Democrat,he was appointed by President Barack Obama in June 2013 as Director of Provider Outreach in the Office of Intergovernmental and External Affairs,a part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Heinz was tasked with helping Secretary Kathleen Sebelius with the roll-out of the Affordable Care Act,with one aspect of his job to work with LGBT organizations across the country as they inform their members of their options in each state. For one or two weekends per month,Heinz continued his work as a hospitalist in Tucson,Arizona. Heinz left the position in March 2015.
Daniel Hernández Jr. is an American politician and former member of the Arizona House of Representatives. A member of the Arizona Democratic Party,he served alongside Rosanna Gabaldón in Legislative District 2. Hernández interned for U.S. Representative Gabby Giffords and was present when she was shot during a 2011 constituent meeting. He has been credited with helping to save Giffords's life after the incident.
