"Vid en liten fiskehamn" is a song written by Jan Christer Ericsson in Lasse Stefanz, and originally thought to become a hit song with the own band. Lasse Stefanz recorded the song on the 1979 album Darlin' , [1] and it also appeared on the band's 1992 album På begäran . [2]

Lasse Stefanz, earlier Lasse Stefans, is a country music-inspired dansband, formed in 1967 in Kristianstad, Sweden. The band was popular during the 1980s. The band was formed by Hans Sigfridsson, Lars Sigfridsson and Olle Jönsson. Later members are Christer Ericsson, Anders Pettersson and Gunnar Nilsson. Olle Jönsson is the singer, as well as the ex-drummer. Lasse Stefanz had hits with songs as "Oh, Julie" (1982) and released albums as Peppelinos Bar (1988). 1989-1990, Lasse Stefanz and Christina Lindberg had a Svensktoppen hit with the song De sista ljuva åren. In 1989, Lasse Stefanz was awarded a Grammis for "Dansband of the year".

In 1981, the song was recorded by seval dansbands, including Bepers! on the album Blandat för dej. Nr 3 , Cedermarks the album Hem till Norrland , [3] Dannys the album Vid en liten fiskehamn [4] and Thorleifs the album Saxgodingar instrumentalt . [5]

Dansband, or danseband in Norwegian and Danish, is a Swedish term for a band that plays dansbandsmusik. Dansbandsmusik is often danced to in pairs. Jitterbug and foxtrot music are often included in this category. The music is primarily inspired by swing, schlager, country, jazz, and rock. The main influence for rock-oriented bands is the rock music of the 1950s and 1960s.

Thorleifs was a Swedish dansband, formed in 1962 in Norrhult, Kronoberg County, Sweden and led by Thorleif Torstensson. The band that sings in Swedish and many other languages, also released albums in German. It also took part in Melodifestivalen 2009 with the song "Sweet Kissin' in the Moonlight" but did not proceed into the finals.

In 1981, the song was also recorded by Curt Haagers on the album Dansa kvack kvack , [6] with Stefan Borsch as guest artist, and Stefan Borsch's own recording became successful, charting at Svensktoppen for 10 weeks between 29 November 1981 [7] -7 March 1982, [8] peaking at first position. Stefan Borsch even released it as a single with Dom vänder hem från Amerika (US of America) as B-side. [9] and it also appeared on his album Minns att jag finns the same year. [10]

Stefan Borsch, born 19 January 1947 in Hagfors, Sweden, is a Swedish dansband singer. At first, he sang for Swedish dansband Öijwinds, and from 1973 for the dansband Vikingarna, which he left in 1979. After this, he began a solo career. He participated at the Swedish Melodifestivalen 1985 with the song "Sjung din sång", which was knocked out in the first round. In parallel to his solo albums he also sang with Anders Engbergs until 1988. The upcoming year he began appearing together with Spotlight, later appearing under the name Stefan Borsch orkester releasing albums until the 1993 band breakup. Between 11 February 1995 and 4 December 1999 he was a member of Keith Elwins orkester. before ending his musical career in 1999

Svensktoppen is a weekly record chart airing at Sveriges Radio. Until January 2003, the songs had to be in the Swedish language. Svensktoppen has aired since 1962, except for the years 1982-1985. The last years before the January 2003 change, the programme was strongly dominated by dansband music.

The song lyrics depict a seaman drowning in a boating accident, reminding of seaman's songs of old days. Arve Sigvaldsen has written lyrics in Norwegian, "I en liten fiskehavn", recorded by Eikaas og de.. on the album Litt av hvert [11] (Bare Bra Musikk EIKAAS06) i 2004.The Stefan Borschs single is one of the titles in the book Tusen svenska klassiker (2009).
