Early life

Vidyadhar was born in Bhimavaram, his father Kagita Srinivas Rao was an educator in the private sector, and his mother Kagita Padma, was a homemaker. Vidyadhar pursued his early education at St. Marks High School, Secunderabad, and Sri Kakatiya Merit School, Bhimavaram before he moved to Hyderabad and went to pursue Mechanical engineering at Malla Reddy Engineering College and graduated in 2014. [1]

Career

Vidyadhar met Vishwanath Chelumala, and collaborated for the film, Gaami . In 2017, he produced two short films, Vaitharani and Vara with Karthik Sabareesh as producer. [2] [3] In an interview with The Hindu , Vidyadhar said "As I worked on the script, I realised the importance of catering to a larger audience. I wanted to do something new within the format of mainstream cinema." [1]

Gaami (transl. Seeker) is a 2024 Indian Telugu-language epic adventure thriller film written and directed by debutant Vidyadhar Kagita. The film features Vishwak Sen, Chandini Chowdary, Abhinaya, Harika Pedada and Mohammad Samad in primary roles. Initially started with a crowd-funding campaign, it was produced by Karthik Sabareesh, under Karthik Kult. It was released on 8 March 2024 to positive reviews from critics and audiences, with most critics praising the cast's performances, unique concept, and technical values.
