<i>Saivam</i> 2014 Indian film

Saivam (transl. Vegetarianism) is a 2014 Indian Tamil-language drama film written, directed and produced by A. L. Vijay. The film features Nassar in the lead role and child actress Sara Arjun plays another pivotal role. The film's cinematography was handled by Nirav Shah and music composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar. The film was released on 27 June 2014 to positive reviews. The film was remade in Telugu as Dagudumootha Dandakor (2015), with Sara Arjun reprising her role from the original film.

<i>Kaththi</i> 2014 film directed by A. R. Murugadoss

Kaththi is a 2014 Indian Tamil-language action drama film written and directed by AR Murugadoss and produced by Lyca Productions. The film stars Vijay in a dual role with Samantha, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Tota Roy Chowdhury and Sathish. It focuses on Kathiresan, a petty thief and lookalike of Jeevanantham, who assumes the identity and attempts to lead a rebellion by farmers from the latter's village, Thanoothu, and helps them fight against an entrepreneur who exploited Thanoothu's water resources.

The 8th Vijay Awards ceremony honouring the best of the Tamil film industry in 2013 was held on 5 July 2014 at Chennai. The event was hosted by Gopinath and Divyadharshini.

Arun Kumar, known mononymously as Atlee, is an Indian film director, screenwriter and producer best known for his work in Tamil films. He initially worked as an assistant director under S. Shankar in the films Enthiran (2010) and Nanban (2012). He made his directorial debut with the film Raja Rani (2013), produced by Fox Star Studios, for which he was awarded Best Debut Director by the Vijay Award and the Tamil Nadu State award for best dialogue writer.
