The Viking gas field is a group of natural gas and associated condensate fields located under the southern North Sea about 85 miles (136 km) from the Lincolnshire coast. The field was in production from 1972 to 2018.
The Viking gas field is a group of natural gas accumulations under the UK North Sea. The field is named after the area of the North Sea beneath which the field is located. [1] The gas reservoir is a Rotliegendes sandstone of Lower to Middle Permian age, at a depth of 9,100–10,200 feet (2,773–3,110 m) with a thickness of 200–500 feet (61–150 m). [2] The Viking structures run north-west to south-east and extend over Blocks 49/12, 49/16 and 49/17. [1] The field was discovered in 1965 and production started in 1972. The original gas in place amounted to 79.3 billion cubic metres. [1] Gas and associated condensate from Viking A and Viking B were both exported via the Viking A field through a 28-inch diameter pipeline to the Viking gas terminal [2] (renamed the Theddlethorpe gas terminal in 1988), Lincolnshire.
The Victor, Victoria and Vixen fields are adjacent to Viking and production from these fields is routed through the Viking offshore facilities. [2]

The field was originally licensed to Conoco UK Ltd, later ConocoPhillips. In 2019 Chrysaor assumed the ownership of Conoco-Phillips North Sea Assets. [3] In March 2021 Chrysaor Holdings merged with Premier Oil to form Harbour Energy. [4]

Export from the Viking B field was originally routed to the shore terminal via Viking AR. From 2009 export was re-routed to shore via the LOGGS installation. [5]
The Viking A field (Viking North) was decommissioned as uneconomical in 1991. The A field platforms (except AR) were removed in 1993–4. [5]
Viking CD, DD, ED, GD & HD ceased production in 2011–15, and were removed in 2017–18. [5]
Theddlethorpe gas terminal was permanently shut-down in August 2018. Production from all connected fields ceased. [5]

The Bacton Gas Terminal is a complex of six gas terminals within four sites located on the North Sea coast of North Norfolk in the United Kingdom. The sites are near Paston and between Bacton and Mundesley; the nearest town is North Walsham.

Rampside Gas Terminal is a gas terminal situated in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria on the Irish Sea coast. It connects to gas fields in Morecambe Bay. It is situated adjacent to the former Roosecote Power Station.
Tyra Field is the largest gas condensate field in the Danish Sector of the North Sea. It was discovered in 1968 and production started in 1984. The field is owned by Dansk Undergrunds Consortium, a partnership between Total, Noreco and Nordsofonden, and operated by Total. The reservoir depth is about 2,000 metres (6,600 ft) and it covers area of 90 kilometres (56 mi) in the water depth of 37–40 metres (121–131 ft).
The Leman gas field is a natural gas field located in the North Sea.The field is 30 miles (48 km) north-east of Great Yarmouth and is named after the Leman Sandbank beneath which it is situated. The gas reservoir is an 800 ft (240 m) thick Rotliegendes sandstone reservoir at a depth of about 6,000 ft (1,800 m). It is about 18 miles (29 km) long by 5 miles (8.0 km) wide. It was discovered in August 1966 and extends across two blocks. Block 49/26 is licensed to Shell and Block 49/27 was originally licensed to the Amoco-Gas Council joint venture, Block 49/27 is now licensed to Perenco UK Ltd. The field was discovered in 1966 and began production in 1968 and produces natural gas and condensates to the Bacton Gas Terminal on the coast of Norfolk via several pipeline systems. The total proven reserves of the Leman gas field are around 11 trillion cubic feet (316 km³), and production is slated to be around 200 million cubic feet/day (5.7×105m³).
The Anglia gas field, is a natural gas field in the United Kingdom's continental shelf of the Southern North Sea. It is located in blocks 48/18 and 48/19 about 60 km (37 mi) east of the Lincolnshire coast. The reservoir is located at a depth of approximately 8,500 feet (2,600 m) subsea. The field was discovered in February 1972. Detailed seismic and appraisal well work were conducted in 1984. The reservoir was estimated to have 235 billion cubic feet of gas in place.
The Indefatigable gas field is a large natural gas and associated condensate field located under the North Sea 60 miles off the Norfolk coast.

The Kotter and Logger oil and gas fields are mid-size fields located in the Netherlands sector of the North Sea, about 40 km west of Den Helder and 107 km north west of Amsterdam. The Kotter and Logger oil fields produced oil from 1984/5 to 2015.
The Lincolnshire Offshore Gas Gathering System (LOGGS) was a major natural gas collection, processing and transportation complex in the UK sector of the southern North Sea. It comprised five bridge-linked platforms about 118 km east of the Lincolnshire coast, which operated from 1988 to 2018.
The Caister Murdoch System (CMS) was a major natural gas collection, processing and transportation system in the UK sector of the southern North Sea. It comprised 11 platforms, 8 subsea wellhead completions and interconnecting pipelines centered about 155 km east of Flamborough Head Yorkshire. It operated from 1993 to 2018.
The Pickerill and Juliet gas fields are decommissioned natural gas producing facilities in the UK sector of the southern North Sea. The fields are located about 66 km (41 mi) east of Spurn Head, Lincolnshire. Pickerill was in operation from 1992 until 2018 and Juliet from 2014 to 2018.
The Clipper gas field is a major natural gas reservoir and gas production facility in the UK sector of the southern North Sea. The field is located about 73 km north-north-east of Bacton, Norfolk; the Clipper production facility has operated since 1990.
The A-Fields are natural gas reservoirs and gas production facilities in the southern North Sea; about 123 km east of Spurn Head, Yorkshire. The fields produced natural gas from 1988 to 2016.
